Its probably because in England we usually like bands who have a genuine talent... and smart enough not to just fall for looks

I think there are a lot of Jonas Brothers fans who don't just like them for their looks. Actually, a lot of the people I know don't think Nick, Joe, and Kevin are cute AT ALL - they just love their music.
