Selena Gomez was just 5 years old when Mommy Mandy broke up with her dad Ricardo. She opened up to M, 'There've been a lot of tears, definitely.' Sel was very scared leaving Texas for LA to work on Wizards of Waverly Place:
'Leaving my dad and moving away from the rest of my family was scary. It was like, I had good and freaked out feelings at the same time. It was probably the most scared I've ever been in my whole life.
But I knew I had to come to California and that it would be OK because I was doing what I always wanted to do. And the people I love, like my dad and friends, would come out and visit me, or I could go back to visit them..Advice to teens dealing with divorce: 'Well as you know, I have a
stepdad. Honestly, I love him with all my heart. I see how happy my
mom is with him, which is awesome.
So I guess what I would tell other
teens is not to fight it. Get to know your new stepparent and enjoy

Selena is also apparently very stressed out with life. She feels 'like a mom to Demi' and is nervous about the new pressures she's facing with her show. Sel worries about all the new girls her boyfriend Nick Jonas will be meeting on tour. AND stress over the new Wizards of Waverly Place movie!

i like selena but how can she possible remember how hard it was when her parents broke up when she was 5. i feel sorry for her but her dad's still around and her stepdad seems nice. divorce is a hard thing to go through but i wouldn't talk about it to total strangers. she should talk to her best friend or something. at least shes over it.even if her parents are boken up she's friends with jb and demi, shes beautiful, her step dad loves her, she and her cousin are really close, she has her own show and record deal. and people go through worse and not all of us has what she has. then again maybe theres more things going on in her life.
