Who the fuck cares if he got a GED or not, shit. So many damn haters. Can’t yall just be happy for the kid and move on. He doesn’t really need half the crap that we learn frankly because he already has a job. A job that pays alot more than any job he’s going to get if he even tries to go to college. Honestly, if you were in his position you would be happy for yourself that you graduated high school early. And half the shit we learn in school isn’t even necessary. I mean really? Biology, Chemistry, Geometry? When the fuck am I going to need to know the radius and diameter of a circle unless I’m going to go into a field of construction. Or when am I going to need to know which chemicals react with others or how many chromosomes a person has unless I’m going to be a doctor or a scientist. Some of this crap is useless unless you’re going to be in any of those fields. And lucky for him, he really doesn’t have to worry about it that much. I’m pretty sure the kid’s got enough money to last him a while. All of you idiots stop whining and saying he wouldn’t get into a good college and shit. The only reason you’re upset is because you have to endure more years of school than he does. Get over it and be happy for him.

    Wtf i learned pre-algebra in 7th grade

Dude my friend was homeschooled and she had it so easy. She woke up whenever she wanted, no PE, no projects, learn at your own pace, and you only learn the basics.

    Wish I was homeschooled

  • cassidy

Honey, If you most likely didn’t get a GED. If you did you wouldn’t be accepted. Just because people are Homeschooled doesn’t mean that they are getting a GED.

    ———————————————-

first don’t call me ‘honey’ and stop acting like your all that and a bag of chips.

i already got my GED, and i took the SAD and ACT and to say the least, my score was way above average..thats manly how i got into BU.
im not going to fight with you, i was just saying to the people on here who bash people for being homeschooled…i worked hard. thats all im saying, and i went to public school for a long time and i know, people in public school work hard too. i did 8 hours a day, not 2-3 its honestly your choice. you can choose. its about freedom and learning at your own pace.

  • http://oceanup.com jazzy

I just think to understand ALL of the subjects and concepts in reugular high school (especially in stupid algebra!), you can’t graduate that early. JUST MY OPINION! But good for him.

    4 years of High School

im homeschooled and i don’t know, maybe it’s the program i’m in but it is HARD WORK.
Please, anyone who hasn’t been homeschooled before, save it. stop saying it is ‘easy’ and that shit, i don’t ‘breeze’ through things. and im 15 (turning 16 next month) and i just graduated two weeks ago.

and im going to Boston University, its one of the best schools in the North East. so save it, stop talking shit unless you’ve had the real experience.

Obviously homeschooling is NOT for everyone. especially people on here. And more than half the people on here can’t spell for beans. :)

why don’t you guys say something postive for once.

im not rich, so every second im making sure my grades are high, so can fill out scholarships that have certain requirements.
but it will all pay off in the long run…i hope.

    8th grade – Basic Algebra
    1st. year – Advanced Algebra
    2nd. year – Algebra II
    3rd. year – Calculus
    4th. year – Advanced Calculus

  • Anonymous

haters are the biggest fans =]

  • Anonymous

Why would you want to be homeschooled? You just said it yourself you only learn the basics. Do you know how hard it is to go to college when all you have is a GED. NO offence to anyone who has it but all it say’s is you went to highscool. And diploma proves that you passed all legal qualifications of completing high school.

  • Anonymous

    He has it really easy:
He got 2-3 hours of school
    No homework
    HIS MOM IS HIS TEACHER

  • Anonymous

When your home schooled, its pretty easy to graduate early.
Well, not pretty easy, but easier.. aha.
Beacuse you can work at your own pase, so none of the other kids are holding you back.
I prefer public school, but thats obviously not an option for Nick jonas.
    Haha [:
    CONGRATZ NICK <3

    its not.

That’s not his freaking myspace idiots …

  • massie

    He’s only 16.
    Little bastard.
Either he’s really smart or he took really easy classes.

  • caro

i think homeschool is not like high school. i think he does not need to learn stupid stuf like things about soul le witte.

  • luluruguay

That’s because Brazil’s got 1 year less of high school than Uruguay, and Uruguay’s got 12 years of total ed, 6 primary, 3 middle school and 3 high school. I think the US has 1 more year at least.
    Bottomline we’re both lame. haha

  • Anonymous

ugh lucky. lol homeschooled kids are always ahead in school.

  • Life’s Good!

Exactly my parents aren’t rich either. So me getting a scholorship is important. Espicially with the colleges i’m looking to attend. Therefore a high GPA is a must. Just goes to show how lucky some people are.

  • Anonymous

You wake up any time late
You have 2-3 hours of school
You don’t have to do 50 hours of community service
    You don’t take SAT,HSPA test
Which means you can’t go to Harvard or and ivy league university.
I have this girl in my Science class who was home schooled and she is completely lost and doesn’t know shit. She is way to behind.

    ——–

totally agree. some girl in my grade transferred to my school after being homeschooled all of her life, and she immediately failed every single class. my school is an advanced private school, but it was still shocking to see that this poor girl couldn’t even read properly. she should’ve at least been able to halfway follow the work. i’m not saying every homeschooled kid is like that, because i know some are much better than others, (i had a close friend that was homechooled and was very smart), but it’s just not fair to say that all homeschooling is just as difficult at regular school, because that’s definately not always true.

  • Anonymous

    STOP CONGRATULATING HIM!!
I would congratulate him if he got a proper degree not some bullshit one that you don’t have to work to get.

    —-
Preach! I graduated with honors and a 3.4 grade average. That was REAL work.

    —-

    Congrats!
I graduated with honors and 3.8 GPA just last week.
    :]

Weird thing is i breezed through high school.

  • Anonymous

And by the way, I guarantee almost none of you will accomplish in your entire lives even 1/4 of what he’s accomplished in 16 years. Get over yourselves
    —-
That depends on what you consider an accomplishment. Now I personally believe that completing medical school and becoming a doctor is a thousand times more accomplished than being a disney boy band. Yes, you don’t have the fans. But what is better?

“Hey, I sang songs about heartbreak to a bunch of 14 year olds for a couple of years.”
    or
“Hey, I just saved someone’s life who was in a brutal car crash, I save lives everyday.”

  • holy fuck

    holy fuck.
    hes 16.
    damn, nick.
wait the fuck up for me.

  • May

You have every right to complain homeschooled ppl are just a bunch of stupid assholes who think that they’re smart but the truth is they don’t know anything and there IQ is probably only as high as a gifted 6th grader, seriously they only learn the basics that’s not enough to get into a college and follow your overachieving dreams. Even though i luv the Jonas Brothers, they get it easy, they can pay for their scholarships, I could afford it too but I choose to go the way to get a scholarship. So here’s the truth Nick stop dreaming so big, chances are there is always someone out there that is smarter and more talented in the field of politics, government, and the source of economy more than you. All in all you’re not going to become president in this lifetime. Just had to get that out of the system. And the people who are defending Nick just think he’s cute, looks don’t matter. I’m an 8th grader going into 9th grader who is in all honors classes and at an 11th grade math level and a 10th grade science level.

Thank You! Harvard doesn’t accept kids when they see that they got a GED. For the reason that they don’t take the HSPA, pre-SATS, or SATS. They can’t show teachers recommending them or all that they did in school (sports, etc.).

  • Anonymous

I graduated through homeschool and I can tell you, Nick did a seriously low amount of work. With Homeschool, you do like 3 hours of work a day, it’s really not that hard to graduate, so quit calling him a genius, it’s really not, at all, that hard to do. It’s pretty much like teh honor system. I can tell he did the ACE system(The short series), which I also did, and it’s SUPER easy.

CONGRATS NICK!

    freaking agree.

    ———

Actually, I don’t agree. Homeschooling is not bullshit, you learn the same exact thing that you’d learn at public schools or private schools, The difference there is you USUALLY only concentrate on finishing up one “subject” at a time and they’re able to learn it at their own pace we shouldn’t really care if he learns all that much at school,it doesn’t really affect us.Oh and about the spelling comment,I’m a senior in highschool like anyother, I’m going to college for poli sci next year but that doesn’t mean that I’m a “spelling genius” like you expect him to be.

  • luluruguay

Hm I know the difference between their, there and they’re, not meaning I spell right over the internet. High School may seem hard, but you know If you’ve got College ahead it’s going to be 10 times worse so don’t complain! :)

    ikr?

Im a going on 9th grader who is going to take Biology, Algebra 2 and Pre Calculus at the same time, honors english, AP Social Studies and AP Environmental Science. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and a 4.5 HPA and study about 2-3 hours a day and read an average of 4 books a week, no joke. My mom and dad want me to become a successful cardiac surgeon and I don’t think I’ll ever get their by recieving a GED and having all the amazing Medical Colleges laugh at me. I’m a very optimistic person and my whole future is already planned out, my guesses are there is no chance for Nick to become president and calling him a genius is like saying you could laugh in space withou a helmet on or you could fly without wings.

  • Jade

I remember back when I was in highschool, I BEGGED my mom to let me get my GED, and she was like stupid people who don’t and can’t get into a good college get their GED. Our President got his GED, and was Homeschool, ya right, that won’t eve happen. Our present President went to HARDVARD. Good luck Nick, and who ever said he had spelling, I also noticed that!

  • Anonymous

    WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
    o_o…Nick….agh

  • this is ridiculous

I can’t believe the amount of hating going on in a post about Nick graduating high school.

    You should be so proud.

And by the way, I guarantee almost none of you will accomplish in your entire lives even 1/4 of what he’s accomplished in 16 years. Get over yourselves

  • megan

guys, chances are nick won’t go to college, or at least not until the band starts to die down. He is way to busy at the moment to attend classes and chances are he would be bombarded with fans all the time. He will probably just attend an online college or wait until the band dies down.

And yes, homeschooling work is probably just as difficult as other schoolwork, the difference is that Nick gets to do his work at his own time and pace. He doesn’t have to wait for the rest of the class to understand the material, he can move on as soon as he’s ready, not when the last kid in the class finally is ready.

Congratz Nick, I still don’t like you and think you are a diva, but at least you are getting an education. Now lets hope you use it.

And for the algebra debate up earlier. It’s different for every school depended on the student body. Like for instance, a private school will have a different math curriculum than a public school.

My school (private school) happens to be:
    7th: Pre-Algebra
    8th: Algebra I
    9th: Algebra II
    10th: Geometry
11th and 12th: Advanced Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus or AP Calculus, Calculus II,
    , or Linear Algebra

Also each grade has some kids who are more gifted at math and move up a class and some who need some extra help who are behind a class.

I’m not bitter and why would I blame my parents? I don’t want to be homeschooled. Why would I want a bullshit as GED? So a college can laugh in my face and look at me like i’m dumb. Nah. I’ll stick with my 4 year high school education and taking the SAT and ACT. But good luck in life with your GED.

  • Anonymous

Of course it doesn’t take as long when your home schooled. It’s just you and a teacher, the teacher doesn’t have to waste time teaching the entire class, it’s just you. And dumbazz she taught sign language to deaf kids retardo, God look up the facts first.

  • idiots.

just putting this out there, if you simply decide to capitalize your letters and use proper grammar while insulting other people’s spelling as a means to sound condescending it really doesn’t make your argument any stronger. it’s not creative and you just seem like a toolbag. kay bye.

Yes, because he is famous. Poor Nick……

  • May

My uncles a billionaire but I don’t depend on him doing anything for me, reguarding my educational and futuristic life, yeah I have more than a lot of people but I’m not going to take the advantage to slack off and buy my way to a highly amzing college. I’m not that stupid and shallow.

  • meg

by the way, I am so sick of the Mr. President nickname.

Nick, your not going to be president.

  • Sam

While I agree that homeschooling is a total JOKE, I just want to tell you that Nick does not have a GED. He has an actual HS diploma from the homeschooling company they use, in his case, it’s Lighthouse Christian Academy. They’re the ones that send all the materials and grade the work, and then when you’re done, they send your diploma. So in this case, it isn’t a GED, but an actual diploma that says “high school” on it, but no way is it even close to as rigourous as a real school.

I go to McNair High School (One of the hardest schools in the country)
We have to take college classes and work 24/7
They take out all the fun out of high school and it’s really hard to get in.
We work through lunch sometimes and we need 80 hours of community service
But since it’s a college course school we only need 3 years of college

    —-

Excuse me for saying this, but if you plan to be the President, being Homeschooled and not being able to spell very well is NOT on my list of things I would like to see in a leader of the fucking FREE WORLD. You don’t have to be a spelling genius to spell correctly. And homeschool is the easiest thing on the planet. I graduated from homeschool. He’s a rockstar, I dont think his parents expect much from his school wise.
    ——-

First of, the spelling “genius” was not my bit…and If you see, I wasn’t talking about whatever his long-term plans are, I’m just saying that even IF he is homeschooled its really none of our business because he’s not going to end up being anything but a singer/popstar whatever you want to call it…Oh and, with all due respect, George W. Bush was dislexic, you guys elected him as president even if he managed to screw up the world with his actions…And I don’t expect you to agree with me, its just my point of view

This second paragraph is exactly what I would say to everyone. Most of the people on this site are in High School. So he graduated at 16. It will take him 4 years to get a real degree and get real life experiences. I love how these girls are defending him, look at the amount of work they do everyday, unless he is a fucking wizard, there is no way, doing the normal amount of work he could finish now. Say what you want, but High School, work-wise, does not even compare to College. It doesn’t, and most of his professors and going to say, “Big deal, Your Nick Jonas, guess what? I don’t give a shit now sit down and let me finish talking.” In college, you don’t get out of a lot of the work you can in High School, you have problem with the work? You better make an appointment because that is the only way that anyone at college is going to help you. You guys an argue, but I’ve graduated from both. Trust me, High School is nothing!

I would like to add that you don’t have to be a “Spelling Genius” to know to spell “Their” or “does”. Nick Jonas doesn’t know how to spell face it. You would not get accepted into any ivy league college with a GED. They only accept kids who took:
    SATS
    pre-SATS
    HSPA
Sorry but no matter how much you defend it home schooled kids do not learn more than us or work as hard as us.

Not always. There are advanced classes (which I am in) that you learn Pre-Algebra (7th grade), Algebra 1 (8th Grade) Geometry (9th Grade), Algebra 2 (10th Grade), Calculus (11th Grade), and I’m not sure what we take Senior Year, yet, because I’m just starting high school this upcoming school year.

    4th. year – Advanced Calculus

Hey all I was trying to say was that most of the people commenting ARE still in highschool and therefore, they have no legitimate decision to judge his intelligence, professors and future employers do. But we all know that he probably won’t end up going college or get into a career in which he needs to use the information that he learns at school. And FYI-the second paragraph-I live in the real world believe me, I am working two jobs and taking highschool classes at the same time, just to be able to afford my university tuition for next year, I’m just saying that you don’t necessarily need to concentrate on your long term goals and what people think of your intelligence when your a freaking MILLIONAIRE like Nick Jonas…

Ok SERIOUSLY I’m amazed right now.

Nick Jonas managed to complete high school EARLY while also writing and performing his own music, acting in a tv show and a movie, constantly traveling, doing interview after ridiculous interview, being a spokesperson for bayer…and that’s probably not even the half of it.

Most of you probably don’t do anything but go to school and sit on your asses leaving hate messages riddled with HORRID grammar and spelling on oceanup.

SO pretty much all I have to say is…SERIOUSLY?!

*Laughs at who’s calling him a genius* He’s probably got the same level of education as me, (I’m in 10th grade). When you’re famous and shit, they teach you the basics, and make you graduate early. It’s what they did with Demi Lovato. When she “graduated,” she informed everyone that she learned Algebra II in a month. Obviously, they didn’t tech her every aspect of Algebra II. Probably just enough for her to get by. He didn’t take a special test to pass, trust me.

It’s funny that a lot of the people here trying to bash Nick for not going to a “Proper” high school or receiving the ‘Correct” diploma or even taking all the necessary “Tests” in order to attend an Ivy League University are the very ones that have the spelling problems. Most of you are using the only thing that you have to bash Nick for graduating early. Why do most people go to university anyway? To get an education or training for a job. Hopefully one that you will enjoy doing and pays well. Guess what guys, Nick is already doing that! Not only did he finish his high school work(whether you approve of the manner or not)but he and his brothers have been “Working” their butts off for years now, made more money, have made most of their dreams come true and have already achieved more than most of you ever will even with your so-called Ivy League credentials and done so with all of their manners, dignity and class still intact.

Now, let’s go back and compare your accomplishments and achievements to their’s. OH! That’s right most of you are still just in school. I rest my case!

  • Anonymous

    But he’s homeschooled.

I mean we’re the same age and I still have 2 years left of high school. 10 of college =/….

  • Anonymous

In many states, you do not need to take the GED to graduate from a homeschool program. You can easily get a diploma. In fact, I know several homeschooled kids who did NOT take the GED and got into very elite universities. Many of the Ivy League schools have admission officers who are hired to specifically look at homeschooled children.

Homeschool is definitely not BS for many. My cousin is homeschooled and takes classes at her local community college while she’s in the 9th grade. She’ll have a high school diploma AND an AA degree when she graduates. Not too shabby.

My mom gave me that same lecture when I was about his age, and I AM so glad she did. lol Nick just better hope this boyband thing works out or he is screwed in real life. This is what I’ve been trying to say forever, they KNOW they aren’t normal and don’t have to play by the rules that everyone else does. I’m sorry, but when someone says they got theri GED, I automatically think that your stupid.

  • Anonymous

he’s soo lucky i still have 2 more years!

  • Anonymous

lol yeah homeschooling is very lame. but what other option does he have, he’s on the road for 1/2 of the year and is working for the rest of the time. so good for him.

  • Class of 09

Yeay Class of 09 I just graduated to

  • Anonymous

LMAO My mom is a teacher and i told her “That is not fair that because they are home schooled the get to graduate early” and she replied “Yes, but i bet you could bet them in any math game or get a better score than them on a state wide test. She also told me that, that test is so easy and only covers the basics.

  • Anonymous

    lol same.
its such bullshit that they only have to sit through tutors like 2-3 hours.
whatever. i feel like they dont learn/know as much…
now im waiting for homeschooled jungle freaks to jump down my throat. ‘WE DO LEARN ALOT!!!!”. mkay.

    STOP CONGRATULATING HIM!!
I would congratulate him if he got a proper degree not some bullshit one that you don’t have to work to get.

  • Anonymous

agreed. congrats nicholas. hope you follow ur heart

    I’m homeschooled. It’s only because
I have auditions and such things.

I have a lot of work to do! So for those
people saying that homeschool is easy, it’s not.

I have to finish a whole class in less than 4 weeks.
In public school it takes the whole year. It’s
a lot of work, I have one week to do 4 chapters.

    In 4 chapters I would say I spend 6 hours a day
just for a few chapters, and about 50 papers
front and back full of work. :|

It’s worth it though, cause you graduate faster,
and you can sleep in! :) haha.

    But congrats Nicholas! :)
    Love ya.

  • Jerks

    Seriously?
Do you know that some people don’t even graduate?
They don’t get the chance to.
In my family, I’m the first one to go out of the city limits for college.
Graduation was a big step in my life.
    And leave Nick alone.
I bet loads of people have been homeschooled that are doing great int their lives.
It’s not what you have, it’s what you make with what you have.
Geez give the guy a break.
He’s making loads of money, and he really didn’t even need to graduate!
    Congratulations Nick J!
    Ily.

  • Rafaela

    3rd. year – Calculus
    4th. year – Advanced Calculus

    SMART kid! vadukiajbdiafhwqa! jealous lol
    ——————
Not really homeschooled kids usually graduate earlier because they work with a one on one teacher, skip things, and have lower requirements to pass. Demi graduated a couple of months ago too.
    ——–

I can bet you guys anything that if we had to compete on let’s say a game show we can beat all of this Disney kids.

  • Anonymous

No way he can graduate at 16! Well, it is possible, but not for him.
    Hes like what, a sophmore?
It’s not really fair because i’m sure that regular school is a lot harder than HIS homeschooling (not hating on the girl that said her homeschooling is easy, because she probably had a good homeschooling) but where can he even find the time to get schooled since hes sooo busy all the time? Should’nt he like be going to school longer than the regular schools since it’s really hard to be schooled when you’re famous.
Lol wow, why did I write a lot?

  • Madi

Just because he graduated at 16 does not make him smart. If you watch him speak in interviews you can tell that he’s an idiot. He probably took that one test that Demi took. Or he did some type of bullshit homeschool. Haha I also like how he
graduated” 1 year after Joe, yet Joe is 3 years older…..

    he’s already following his heart

    Congrats nick!

    Which Jonas Brother is this??

  • Anonymous

Congrats! YOU DESERVE IT! Not someone who took an easy test to graduate.

  • Miss Kelly

no, really hes supposed to graduate 2011, same as me, im 16 also, but i could graduate next year, but whats the point in normal high school. Senior year is the best year. :D

  • Life’s Good!

Exactly I sit through 8 hours of school 5 days a week. I have to SAT/ACT and HSA they have fucking 2-3 hour days. They don’t learn shit and honsetly it’s not fair. I like JB don’t get me wrong but homeschool kids have it easy. I’m busting my ass 24/7 to keep a decent GPA so I can actually attend college. Not to mention studying for these Exams and a partime job not to mention Extra-Curricular activites.

class of 09 baby!!! except im 18 and hes 16…weird

You probably did actually work and graduated the right way, so ya. Congrats to you and not to Nick.

  • Anonymous

He’s actually only graduating one year earlier! He’s in grade 11, he’s still 16 because he has a late birthday

  • Anonymous

    Congratulations Nick!

  • Anonymous

oh nick please, don’t you ever be president. PLEASE

  • Tonya.

    Damn,
    I wish I was homeschooled.
I hate going to a normal school, and graduating
    at the right time, haha.
    Congrats Nick Jayy.
I’ll vote for him for president. (:

  • Life’s Good!

Exactly I’m his age i graduate 2011. can’t wait for Senior year. But yeah sucks to be her.

  • cassidy

im homeschooled and i don’t know, maybe it’s the program i’m in but it is HARD WORK.

  • Jade

    STOP CONGRATULATING HIM!!
I would congratulate him if he got a proper degree not some bullshit one that you don’t have to work to get.

Preach! I graduated with honors and a 3.4 grade average. That was REAL work.

  • Anonymous

um if you dont mind me asking whats the big deal if he graduates at 16.
my and i graduate at 16 too

    ——

You should have never graduated and stayed in school. Maybe you would have learned to write correctly.
“my and i graduated at 16 too” that makes no sense what so ever.
    dont is don’t
