Jonas Brothers On Boy Band Shelf Life The Beatles AND Staying GROUNDED

Jonas Brothers interview with FresnoBee [Via JonasHQ]. Joe on boy
bands having a limited shelf-life: 'What people don't really understand is that we secretly are over the age of 40, so we've already lived through our shelf-life-time, so we're just going back and trying to reinvent ourselves. In all seriousness, we are just having fun with what we do and playing music.'

Nick on being compared to the Beatles: 'I think the Beatles are the Beatles
and no one can touch that. We're honored that some people say that, but for us, we're just trying to be ourselves and just trying to really be inspired by a lot of things. You know artists like the Beatles, Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash, Prince and just continue to learn and have fun.'

Kevin on staying relevant in the music industry: 'You think about that every
day as an artist in this generation. You look back on it, and just 10-15 years ago, Britney Spears and the 'N Syncs of the world were selling a million records in the first day of their album release and they were selling arenas out.

We're on an arena tour, but no one's selling 10 million records anymore. The Internet has taken a very huge turn in music, but, of course, I think everyone wants to take new steps toward new ideas and new technologies that..

..will allow music to get there, and get out there first. We released an album a year the past four years now ..Just always continually making new music and continuing to put out music is very key in a world that moves so quickly.'

Nick on staying grounded: 'It's about the family base. We've made that rule
No. 1 from day one, making sure that the family comes first and that we focus on that. That's the priority. Also we live by the rule, 'We live life if it's at the top like we're at the bottom,' which means stay humble and keep the right attitude.'

Well they're failing at using any of those artists as influences in their music, because I'm really not hearing that sound at all.

These guys are so mature.

But they need to change up their interviews.

"Its a family base."
"Our fans are the best in the world"
"We love our family and each other"

Etc, Etc.

LOL sooo true. OU has been REALLY slow today....

Britney and N'Sync will always be better than them. And I'm still trying to understand the comment kevin made about people buying their albums on the Internet. Is he saying they have sold more than them lol? Because that's entirely not true. I think Kevin needs to watch how he words things sometimes, like that comment he made about working at Starbucks (be thankful for us Kevin, we make your coffee.) I like JB but they have been pissing me off lately.

Anonymous said:

oooops, nevermind. i had to re-read that again. he didn't say they were selling more records.

CornPopsGirl!!! <33 said:

Um he simply is saying that artists sold more back in the day. It's not that hard to comprehend.

Sarah said:

------------------
I think they are influenced in ways that don't necessarily mean they copy what their influences do, but rather in what they've been experimenting with and modeling some things after certain things they find they have taken a liking to, ya know what I mean? Smile

i love them but taht was funny Smile

hes not saying they are selling more. hes plainly saying nobody is selling as much as they did now.

u have to take into consideration how many people now illegally download their music and stuff. if there was anyway to monitor how many times a song or album was downloaded then that added to the legally bought albums and stuff mite be alot. maybe even reaching to the 10 mil like britney and justin did.

jenn said:

NICKS NEW BLACK KEYS SPEECH! READ! Ladies & Gentlemen it has been quite a year. With one year we have had 2 #1 selling Albums. We have also, been on the Rolling Stone Cover twice. As for for myself I have met the President of the United States and have had not 1 but 2 girls complain about me in 17 magazine. Its been a heck of year!

Anonymous said:

they're so honest. i love how they dont make it a big
deal that they're called The Beatles of our generation.
love them Smile

wtf?? you like, expect them to be perfect. i word
things wrong sometimes and it comes out the wrong way.
everyone does it! just because they're famous, doesn't
mean they're perfect. kevin doesn't mean to say it
that way, but sometimes it comes out as that. and
about the album thing, they're saying that since we
have the internet, people buy albums off the internet
and onto their ipods, and don't buy the actual album.
