It should not matter whether the band will be known better. And did the Jonas Brothers not have a say in their band name?
The truth is that she is the only one on the album cover, the only one in the music video and she'll probably be the only one credited for writing the music.

The Jonas Brothers and Selena Gomez & The Scene are totally different.

Greg Garbo and co. are not IN The Jonas Brothers. They are musicians who play with them live. The guys from Selena Gomez & The Scene are supposed to be in the band. Credited members.

That is your opinion and I respect that, but her drive to be where she is today could have possibly gotten her into the music business. Selena has basically come from humble roots and became a pretty powerful force, just with her perseverance.
Passion for what you want is a powerful thing.

Selena, does have a slightly different sound. Her voice has a slight raspiness to it. I like the way it changes octaves.
Knocking Selena for taking an opportunity that was given to her, makes no sense to me. Most people would jump at the chance if it were presented to them.

What's wrong with trying to get as many people to listen to the music as possible? Adding Selena to the band title does not really take away from the band as a whole.

Even Metro Station has become better known since the whole Demi thing and now touring with Miley. This is proof that a big name can help a band.

I bet the next album if it happens will be geared more towards the band than just Selena.

Selena's album is coming out the same day as Paramore, Mariah Carey and Madonna, so I don't think she'll be #1, not because she's a bad singer or because she's not popular, but because it was a really tough competition. I mean, Mariah and Mondonna??? They're legendary and Paramore is crazy popular. But I do think her album will do fairly well.

so you hear selena sing one time on her live web chat and you automatically think she sings bad? dumbass, she was doing it acoustic in a different tone, thats why it sounded different. it didn't "suck" but it wasn't good. and she's not going to sing like that when shes performing live on dancing with the stars.
