I can tell you all first hand that they have dated. I don't know if they still are, she and I no longer talk. Truth be told, she used to be a very sweet and well rounded girl. But over the course of this past year, it's all seemed to go straight to her head. She considers herself in a very high standard, and at times acts as if she's God. Holier than thou is the saying. She's ditched all of her old friends except for Nolan and the last time I spoke to her, she doesn't keep in touch very much with Marissa. She's allowed herself to be brainwashed by the whole glitz and glamour of Hollywood, that she's more deserving than a normal folk walking across the street. And yes, she and Selena no longer have that attached at the hip friendship anymore. Selena is very loyal and very adamant about staying humbled and down to Earth. She still gets in trouble if she doesn't clean her room, or if she doesn't have her homework done in time. And she appreciates that and is grateful that the people around her love her enough to not view her at all as someone who's famous, but as their daughter or their granddaughter. Selena's education comes first, her family and then her career comes in at a third. Her friends are just as important to her, she has a wonderful group of friends who. She always has her family surrounding her with encouragement and love. Demi, on the other hand, she's convinced that, to put it nicely, her shit doesn't stink. Her mom is like a stage mom, she puts Demi's teenaged feelings second to her daughter's career. She's in it for the money, she likes to be recognized when she walks down the street. It excites her a great deal. Demi has changed. From a girl I managed to eat an entire carton of ice cream with at a nightly sleepover, to dancing like goofs to some ridiculous 80s music and laughing about everything - it's the the point where me, her other friends from before she was miss popularity and such, she's cut them off. Including Selena. But, Selena has been trying hard to go about her business and just stay out of any drama that may be stirred up. Once again, you guys read too much into why these 2 chicas aren't as close as they once were. Things happen, people grow up and sometimes, grow up apart. Selena has tried to stand beside Demi no matter what, but then the calls became less and less, and Demi wouldn't answer Selena's text message. To Demi, in her mind, she's thinking she's starting a brand new life with this awesome career so she has to throw out the old and bring in the new. Unfortunately for her, the new are not going to have her back as the old would have. Nolan won't even talk to any of us anymore, it's almost as if he had to choose between his friends back home or Demi. We used to throw her a small gettogether at Nolan's house, we'd have cake and take a lot of pictures, listen to her experiences and listening to some good music. We haven't had that in 2 years, and she never asks why. Why? Because when she does come home, she doesn't bother texting or calling her friends except for Nolan, that she's home. Selena doesn't go into detail about their recent detatchment. She likes her private life private. But, it wasn't over a boy. It wasn't over anyone being more successful than the other, it wasn't a huge fight that escalated to it. It was just something that gradually thinned out. The people Demi hang around aren't very good influences. And they're usually very quick to taunt someone who appears to be "perfect" (no one's perfect.) So i'm sure through all of this, they've teased Selena behind her back and possibly brought Demi along for the "fun". It's a shame to throw a wonderful and long friendship away just like that, though, with no remorse. Selena's happy where she is in her life right now, and she's happy that so many do love her. Her Wizards cast is especially protective over her, especially David Henrie. So it's no surprise that she recieves a lot of hugs and jokes to bring a smile to her face. It doesn't take a lot to make Selena happy. She's genuinely a happy person, with a kind heart and a loving nature. It's not fake, it's who she is. I'm very proud, no matter what, she's still managed to stay the beautiful inside and out person that she has been.

LOL I know, but we don't really know what happened to be honest. What we read isn't the same thing as having insight information on the situation. And yeah she did but i think she was just trying to cover for her mom or really wanting it to be private. Also i don't really think they are dating, or at least not yet. Didn't her mom supposedly say on one of the texts that Joe and Demi were going to try dating AFTER he got back? And if that was the case. Technically, she didn't lie.. right?

But unnecessary lying is idiotic and it only falls apart by its own weight, as we have seen with Demi.

She's gonna have to understand that the best way to handle her private life is to keep her goodamn mouth shut. But she doesn't owe her personal life to you. The only thing she owes to fans is her music, what she's in this business FOR.

Who she is, what she's doing, or who's she's dating is not affecting your life in any way. Therefore calling her out for lying is a stupid reason to dislike her. Because everyone lies to protect others. Whether it be yourself or someone else. There's always a reason behind it.
