Paramore may have some teen fans but they have mostly an older audience. They don't have the "tween" following that Selena has. I didn't buy Miley's album just cause she's miley...if Selena had released an album like breakout and sounded as good as her, I would have bought that too...I'm like Perez in the way that my love for music is not biased.

Perez called Selena his favorite teen queen just a few weeks ago and the other day he trashed her about her music. He hates Miley, but he admits that he likes her music, even the tracks from Breakout and congratulated her on her success. He didn't like Miley's music because she's miley cyrus, he liked it DESPITE the fact that it was Miley Cyrus. I am not trashing Selena in any way. Selena actually had more of an advantage because she had a little longer to establish her fanbase before putting out an album. You mean It's About Time or Jonas Brothers? If you're talking about It's About Time that didn't sell well because the label didn't want to work with them anymore and it was only put on in limited release. Selena's was put out on mass release. Plus, Selena is already established JB were nobodies when It's About Time came out. Honestly, I don't think the fact that HM is a musical show had anything to do with the success of Miley's first album. Hilary Duff first album did really well and her show wasn't musical. It actually sold more than Miley's first album did in it's first week. Selena was kind of in the same position as Hilary. She had soundtrack songs and other little singles like that out and then put out a full album.
