I'm classy enough to know how to spell the word. And having ten pounds of makeup on isn't classy, it's trashy. It's not even pretty meshing colors, it's bright blue and red. High fashion is supposed to be sophisticated, not 'dress up like you're 7'.

I totally get what you mean by not being able to get up in front of a class or school but being able to get up in front of prominent people. This is high fashion.
There are numerous ways of doing a high fashion photoshoot.
Honestly, I think the photographer played on the idea of her being young and innocent.
It's still high fashion because you wouldn't get out in public looking like that, but you would take the ideas for makeup and dress from the photos.
Fashion is all about creating an ostentatious look to something and having everyday designers take that look and inspiration to create everyday wear.

I love how Taylor can be so diverse in photoshoots, and especially love this one, That girl is made/built for editorial shots.
It's amazing how well you can tell she takes direction its more appealing to me then some of the female models I work around/with that you have to tell them 1000 times what not do/do she looks more evolved in a profession thats not even hers then they do.
As far as the make-up goes it's suppose to be like to be more edgy rather than freshed face, Editorial like photoshoots are always like that rather than have fresh make up shots, High fashion campaigns play off of it especially D&G and Versace heres an example from Lavin Paris http://veryverychic.typepad.com/.a/6a00e5523a6edd88330120a54fcb1f970c-pi . She's not copying anyones style or trying to be something she's not, all High Fashion shoots have different themes they work with to put together a story line. Like as many people said it could be a futuristic cut of "Alice and Wonderland." It's art.
