Nick Jonas chatted with Star Ledger about his new band The Administration which includes the members of Prince’s New Power Generation. Nick said: ‘Prince is and always has been a big influence for me. This record, especially.. The album has a raw, rock-funk feel.’
Why Nick didn’t record the new songs with his brothers: ‘It’s not that I thought it couldn’t be done by the Jonas Brothers. It was just about me branching out, and showing people who I am as an artist and a musician. I think all of us have individual dreams and ambitions, along with dreams as a group.
I’ll be doing some Jonas Brothers songs that I feel a personal connection to. ’A Little Bit Longer,’ a song I wrote about my diabetes, might be one. ‘Black Keys,’ from the last album (‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’), I really like playing live. It’s all up in the air right now. But I will play the whole record by Nick Jonas and the Administration, and some covers as well, and we’ll see what happens.‘
