i would disagree. memorable does not necessarily mean good. let's look at disney stars for example. miley and selena's recent singles have been utter autotuned crap. HOWEVER, they are catchy and you remember the lyrics after only a couple of listens--thus, memorable. it's what sells nowadays.

Sales aren't everything. Sales and mainstream don't equate to music quality.
Selena and Demi are two different musicians who have completely different music styles. Why do people feel the need to make it a competition? Selena and Demi are both great musicians that have the passion for what they're doing.

selena's music ins't successful. her album sold less then demi's, when demi's here we go again album was released it sold over 360,000 copies 3 months later. selena hasn't hit that mark, naturally has only entered 2 single charts despite it being released in a lot of countries. her album is unsuccessful compared to other disney stars including ashley tisdale. selena has only entered THREE MAIN ALBUMS chart, and one component chart of the Austrlian main chart. Her position in the Australian hitseekers is tragic, considering hitseekers is for non-mainstream-ized musicians who sell less than 1000 downloads/copies. Do the research. Naturally is her biggest and only success in music, and its small compared to all of the other highly promoted artists in the industry these days.
I'm sorry maybe selena's album could have done a million times better in the charts if she can actually sing and if she actually co wrote all of her music like Demi. She isn't involved in the production, the record label gives her 2-3 songs and she has to choose one as a single, she's got little creative control and her music career is a flop respectively for a highly promoted Disney Channel artsist. Even Vanessa Hudgenes did better than selena in her early ''V'' days, Come Back to Me entered over 10 charts and topped most of them. Paris Hilton HAS EVEN a better music career than selena, have you seen how many charts her music has entered and at times topped.
