Push Play Myspace blog: IT’S A WRAP! The end of a decade. For us four members of Push Play, the end of this decade marks the beginning of transition. We started out as 4 Long Island 15 year old boys with a mission: to make it as a band and let our music spread over the radio and into your venue, house, car, place of worship, school, etc.
We were 4 goofballs throwing caution to the wind and acting on any idea that came across our minds. From tagging shows of bands that were successful and handing out our promocards there so people would get to know us to performing in shows alongside bands with great success, we’ve been through it all. We roughed up the desert, skidded in the snow, climbed the blue mountains and searched the valleys: all to come up with music we could call our own..
..and make it known to you. But so many still don’t know us or have some preconceived notion about what we are and who we are. We’re musicians, that’s what we are. And we’re trying just like other musicians to make it in this business called music. So tough you have no idea.
We launched DESERTED on a prayer out of our basement, recorded and produced with a 15 year old’s mind who became 16 then 17. You didn’t know us and we didn’t know you. Then we began to understand life and write better music, stronger lyrics with an intensity that only we will ever truly understand.
We recorded this music with the pros, then shopped it, found Windup Records and launched FOUND. And out of FOUND came MIDNIGHT ROMEO.. a song that would hit the airwaves, make it to TOP 40 and get our name out there. Because of MIDNIGHT ROMEO you might have gotten to see us at one of our many shows this past fall or one of the many Jingle Jams sponsored by radio this holiday season. And the experience was beyond incredible for us.
Some of you might not know that we travelled in a school bus across the United States, dying from the persistent heat in that bus, nauseous from the smell of gas that eminated from the engine. We broke down several times along the way. Didn’t make some shows because of the break downs..
but you fans understood and we want to thank you for understanding. We slept in that bus most nights and woke up to freezing temperatures in the middle of nowhere. The experience of travelling as a band is something we will never forget. And again, we travelled the distance to meet you, greet you, perform for you and hope that all of you would like our music, buy our music and become our fans.. our fans for life.
Well, reflection is over. We have you to thank for a year that was unbelieveable for us 4 guys from Long Island living on a dream to break out and make it. We haven’t ‘made it’ yet, in fact we’re not sure we will ever say we’ve ‘made it’ because we’re ALWAYS striving for that greater success and that might only come when we look back on our lives 70 years from now. But until then.. we want to leave this year with one last look back. So check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwlYdl-sXTk It says it all. WE LOVE YOU!
