That's um... the role she's playing in the movie. If the girls start dressing like that, they're looking up to Cherie Currie, not Dakota. Cause that's not how Dakota dresses. That's how Cherie used to.

Miley would get ridiculed for taking on a role like this where she has to wear lingerie in the movie. But the thing is Dakota and Miley are two completely different people, they dress different, act different, carry themselves different and this is just another acting job to Dakota. This isn't how Dakota would dress in real life, she's playing Cherie Currie.

This movie looks great, the singing is awesome. But I think the worst mistake was casting Dakota Fanning. She looks ridiculous, it's not believable, unlike Kristen.

My two least favourite actresses star in this movie. What a coincidence.

I dislike Kristen Stewart because she can't act for the life of her...

I'm not going to try to deny that Dakota can't act- she is a really great actress, but watching her in interviews, talk shows, etc., she seems precocious and annoying...So I don't dislike her as an actress, just as a person (at least from what I've seen from her; I could be wrong).

Props to the two of them for landing roles in this movie, though.

Uhm big difference. Miley's movies are familly movies, rated R. Dakota's movies are usually more serious, have an adult audience and are not rated R. Plus I don't think the movie's promoting this kind of behavious, it makes it look pretty distructive.

You forgot something important. Dakota is taking on a character here. She doesn't actually go out in real life dressed like this. Miley, on the other hand, wears the exact same outfits on and off stage. She doesn't make a difference between real life and performance.

And no, Taylor is not very liked for her clothes/behavior either.

It's about her time in the runaways It's not the Joan Jett story and it's not the story of the runaway's it's the story of Cherie Currie
they are selling it as kristens movie because of her twilight fame But Dakota plays the lead role and did an amazing job

Most of you commenting this hating are most likely not even half the age to go see this movie due to its R rating.

Dakota Fanning is one of the most talented young actresses in Hollywood right now. Look at her past roles. Honestly, what other 6 year old could pull off her role in I Am Sam and make it believable?!

For those who are ripping on Taylor Momsen, she was originally up for this role, but could not do it because of Gossip Girl's filming schedule. Her and Dakota look similar, let's face it.

Dakota's character was 16 when they got signed. That means Cherie Curry dressed in lingerie while performing in real life. It's not a big deal. Because Dakota IS under age doing this film, she had to have her parents sign a release to allow her to do it. They know very well that she is not like this in real life, hence why it's called "acting".

I'm sorry if Dakota has more talent in her pinky finger than some other Hollywood kids, but get your facts straight before dissing on ANYONE.

There is something called dignity and that stays with you wheather you're acting or in normal life, Dakota, in the move, was in lingerie, she was eating that guy's face in a very inappropriate postition, if you try and concentrate you'll see her at 1.56 , naked from her back (Just like Miley) AND SHE'S ACTUALLY 15! not that I'm defending Miley, I actually hate her, but that isn't the point. The point is DOUBLE STANDARDS! If you want to treat Miley bad then treat EVERYONE else bad. Peace <3
