wow your judging by two reviews when there are already so many people who have seen who said the movie is amazing but what ever typical hater and bitter Selena stan.

  • britt

    I can’t waite for last song ! 14 days !!!

also, this is off-topic, but joe jonas is so precious. did anyone see what he wrote about miley on twitter? i know that he’s a lousy boyfriend, but he seems like a good guy. no bad blood between them even after all of her bashing of nick, lol.

LOL. Yeah, “and her Wonder World tour is doing soooo bad.”
Really, do we have to go to this same shit with every thing Miley does?

LOL so true Mileys tour failed and then they found out she was #1 in US and UK there tones changed then

Joe just had a twitter spree apparently his fav Miley song is..The Climb

“.. Climb. I think Miley Is so Talented. She deserves everything shes worked so hard for! love for miles! “-Joe

must you stans gang up on everyone? that girl said nothing bad. initial reviews for the last song are not positive. it’s okay. breathe in, breathe out.

they said the same thing about Mileys tour and we all know they were wrong so its the haters who are the stans not the fans

the movie didnt even come out yet. when it does go see it for yourself to judge her performance please.

  • zing

what? i have no idea what you’re talking about. the first two reviews for her movie were negative. period. end of discussion. this is not a huge deal. stop ganging up on people for stating facts.

Movies are typically screened for the press a week or so in advance. That’s how they review them.

The first review was not exactly negative have you seen reviews in the past barely any movies get more than 7 out of 10 so I dont see your point

Joe is a sweetheart. He lets his flaws show but he’s such a good guy.

No sweetie you are come back after the movie goes #1 so we can laugh in your face like we did with the Wonder World tour

  • Anonymous

the movie having bad reviews might not be because of miley’s acting it could be the plot u know? but i guess ppl these day will just find ANYTHING to tear down miley. “love makes the world go around” :]

  • Anonymous

Why do you keep bringing up her goddamn tour? I really couldn’t care less about it. But to claim that a 7 or 5.5/10 is a “great review” is absolutely laughable.

  • zing

moe as in miley and joe?! AWKWARD. i can see them more as drinking buddies than dating, imo. jemi’s where it’s at.

These are professional critics. Seriously, you remind me of the Twilight stans who insist that we Common Folk JUST DON’T GET HOW GREAT IT IS. Jesus Christ.

“So after a few smiles and a few tears, I still haven’t made my mind up about this film! It was definitely better than I expected — and really pretty much just what I would have expected for this sort of film — but it was no Notebook and it’s one big steaming dose of Miley whom I can normally only stomach in small 22 minute Hannah Montana portions! Miley fans will enjoy (although maybe not one for the younger kids) and it’s definitely good for a Liam perve fest if he floats your boat ladies, but it’s one you need to judge for yourself!”

    Sounds pretty good.
Rating — 5.5/10. Take the tissues.

That’s better than the rating of The Notebook on Rottentomatoes.
    Have fun :)

    13 March 2010
So finally we get to see what love birds Miley Cyrus and Australia’s Liam Hemsworth got up to in the last couple of months…! It seems like more than a year since we got the pics of Miley and Liam getting more than cosy on the set of ‘The Last Song’, but the question was, would the onset chemistry come up well on the big screen? Well yes, and no.

‘The Last Song’ is based on the coming-of-age drama written by Nicholas Sparks, more famously known for his tear jerker ‘The Notebook’. Disney starlet Miley Cyrus plays Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Miller, a rebellious and frustrated teen who still hasn’t recovered from her parent’s ugly divorce. Ronnie and her brother Jonah are sent to live with their father Steve for the summer, played by Oscar winner Greg Kinnear.

PLAYLIST: The Hot Hits Hot Autumn Picks!

Upon arrival, Ronnie is extremely hostile towards her father and does her best to make an enemy with everyone in the small Georgia beach town of Tybee Island. She succeeds at doing her best to have a terrible time until she meets Will Blakelee, played by Aussie boy Liam Hemsworth. After a shaky start Ronnie and Will fall heavily in love, which in turn helps her to bond with her father and reconnect with her musical past.

The film is quite authentic and convincing in most part, except for some super cheesey “ohh the car’s bogged in mud, let’s throw mud at each other” and “let’s splash each other in the water…no wait on, let’s cover each other in water and then kiss”. But aside from the Disney cheese, which seems to be compulsory in teen dramas of late (anyone seen ‘Remember Me’?), ‘The Last Song’ is a really decent flick, and will certainly help Miley Cyrus shake her squeaky clean pop star tag.

Directed by Julie Anne Robinson, credit must also be given for not being tempted to fill the film with commercial music, opting for inclusion of alternate tunes from Iron & Wine, Australia’s Eskimo Joe and Jose Gonzalez. Naturally Miley Cyrus gets a spot on the soundtrack with the slightly cringe worthy ‘When I Love At You’, but at least it’s not ‘Party In The USA’!

Thanks to another stellar performance by Greg Kinear and commendable efforts from Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, ‘The Last Song’ will last song will definitely please Cyrus fans and pick up a few extra on the way.

‘The Last Song’ gets 7/10 and is in next week.

to play the devil’s advocate, studios put movies out mid-week when they’re planning on it performing poorly

to understand this, the last song will be put on the same chart as madea etc

madea and others come out on friday
    tls comes out on wednesday

thus to get tls to #1 the studio obviously felt the need to get 2 extra days of revenue over the other movies

    just sayin

  • Anonymous

I think it will be just a little above average in terms of overall quality. I read the book and found it a tad overwrought. So maybe they’ll tone parts of it down. Greg said they did so hopefully that will show.

The rating is an average of all the reviews from mags and online sites written by actually film critics

No, it isn’t. -_- 55% = site-visitors. 20% are from the actual critics. Read, my child.

The movie will be a huge success, and it will be so funny to see how the hater will get pissed about it. When I’m bored I go to the Razzies forum to have a laugh. It was so fun during the the HM Movie. Everybody was saying the movie will bomb and Miley was suggested to be nominated for a Razzie before the movie came out (lame, isn’t it?). And then the movie did really well and every day the commenters on the forum got more pissed. And then they got depressed and started all “What’s wrong with the world today speeches.” LAMO.
This spring will be so much fun.

By the way, if you have no life, enjoy:

  • Anonymous

no one sane thought the movie would bomb

hm has an audience of millions of little girls

for the last song i predict maybe $20 mil opening week

obviously miley’s main fanbase is young kids so they won’t be seeing this

so the nicholas sparks fans will have to make up for revenue

  • sAnonymous

“Avatar” got 50 percent bad reviews and 50 percent good reviews. It also won some of the Oscars it was nonimated for but not all. It went on to become the biggest movie of all time.

I guess that just shows that reviews are just opinions and really don’t count. Most, (if not all) of the reviews I have read have said Miley did a good job. That was also what most of the reviewers said of her in the HM movie. They didn’t like the HM movie but they like her performance.

Okay, I dont get it. The person who said The Last Song has been getting bad reviews is wrong. All I’ve seen so far are good reviews. What’s their problem? Geez.

  • Anonymous23

movies that have bad critical reviews tend to end up with amazing viewer reviews. critics do what they r named for. they CRITIQUE. they look into the finest points of acting, the sounds, the lighting, the storyline, and they tend to give better reviews to the boring history based films than the cute, funny, love story movies that most of the general public likes. i tend not to trust movie critics for the types of movies i mostly watch. i like the serious ones, but even movies like the hangover (which was FLIPPING HILARIOUS!) got terrible reviews. WHY, you may ask? cuz the boards of critics r old people that only give good reviews to movies like “the king and i,” a movie i personally didnt enjoy too much. u cant always trust critics, cuz u gotta go by person preferance

This is probably one of the smartest comments I seen on this post, think for yourselves. Just cause someone doesn’t like the movie doesn’t mean you won’t. We all have different types of taste and opinions.

Pretty much. I mean that’s kind of a blanket statement with the history movies but I feel like critics apply the same criteria to every movie. I tend to ignore them unless the ratings are aggressively bad.

  • sAnonymous

Rottentomato’s get their reviews as follows

    Quoted form their site.

“The TomatoMeter measures the percentage of positive reviews for “Approved” TomatoMeter Critics for a certain Movie.”

In other words, it just the folks that they want to hear from and not a sampling of all the critics. I stick with the Business sites which indicate that the reviews were 50/50 when the “Avatar” was first released. They did change later, but it was consider a likely response to the movies unexpected popularity.
