the way i see it is that music is a form of art, and art is a form of self expression and if people express themselves with stupid lyrics and catchy beats, than that's how they express themselves. In the music biz, talent doesn't matter, you could be an amazing singer, but if people don't like your music, it's not going to sell.

the reason why demi's music career is not as successful as selena's is because one she chooses to sing rock type shouty music which not many people like and two her management dont really promote her that much. Also maybe if she stopped acting so bitchy and "hard" sometimes and more kind and bubbly like selena then she would have more fans just saying.....

Naturally is a hit!
It's been playing on our most popular radio station here (Vancity Canada)and they really only play r&b, hip hop, pop, & big hits in country=taylor s., rock, ect.
Let's just say that the ONLY other song by a Disney artist that was ever played was Miley's "The Ckimb". Not even her other songs, not because they weren't good but because it didn't hit the demographic.
Selena Gomez & The Scene's song, Naturally hits a very wide demographic. Not only do her fans like it but the ages vary from preteen/teen to young adults (20's to late 20's).
You don't have to like it but to deny that it is a hit well...I dont know what rock you've been hiding under.

Then the Nick obsessors want to buy her album because she has a connection to him. And then people who didn't know about her or her album buy it also. More publicity equals more sales.

The day Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were at the Houston Rodeo was also Go Tejano Day. In years past this day typically was the highest attendance day of the Rodeo. Several local bands were there throughout the day as well as other special events.
If you came to the Rodeo on that day, there was no difference in the tickets to see the other bands, or events and to stay and see Justin and Selena.
Numbers can be used to say many things. However, one set of numbers rarely tells the whole story.

Oceanup you make me laugh, big achievement there selena getting the number 2 spot on radio disney. Its not like the top 40. And the only reason people went to the rodeo was for justin beiber. He has a huge fanbase. If it was just selena they wouldn't bother having her at the rodeo because she can only sell out very small arenas.
