All entries are due May 17 and the TOP 3 per mall location will be chosen based on talent and artistry, May 24. The top 3 per mall location will be voted publicly on our site. Voting ends May 31 and the one who gets the most votes (per mall location) will be announced.
Performance may be of an original or cover song. Upon winning, artists will be contacted to perform a 3-5 song set at the respective mall location. “Rock Your Mall” Contest
ELIGIBILITY: The “Rock Your Mall” Video Contest (“Contest”) is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington D.C., who are at least 13 years of age or older at time of entry and not older than 24 years of age at the time of entry. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of General Growth Management, Inc, OceanUP.com (“Website”), Grand Central Marketing, Inc., Little & King Co., LLC and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, participating vendors and sponsors, promotion or advertising agencies, or any other company involved with the design, production, execution or distribution of the Contest (all of the above, together with Sponsor, collectively referred to as “Promotion Entities”), and the employee’s immediate family members (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), regardless of where they live, and the employee’s Household Members, are ineligible to enter. “Household Member” shall mean people who share the same residence at least three (3) months per year (whether related or not). All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
HOW TO ENTER: Contest begins at 12:01:01 AM Pacific Daylight Time (“PDT”) on 4/26/10 and ends at 11:59:59 PM PDT on 5/17/10. Entrant(s) must perform, on camera, by singing or playing a musical instrument as a soloist or in a group. Cover music and original compositions are both acceptable. Each entrant or group may submit one (1) entry during the Contest Period. Entrants, if submitting separately, are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any entrant to submit more than one (1) entry by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations, or any other methods will void all submissions entered by that entrant, at the sole discretion of Sponsor, and may be disqualified. The Promotion Entities are not responsible for late, lost, stolen, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries. Upon submission, all entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. During the Contest visit www.oceanup.com, click on the Contest link and follow the instructions to submit your video (the “Video Submission”). Entrant must have posted their video to YouTube and revisit the Contest page on OceanUP.com then provide the link or URL to their video entry location on YouTube.com. Entrant does not necessarily have to be the central focus of the video submission.

▪ During the registration process, each participant will be required to click where indicated to confirm that such participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules.
▪ Any Submission that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, obscene or otherwise does not comply with the YouTube Terms of Service located at http://youtube.com/t/terms as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will not be eligible.
▪ Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, or misdirected entries which are void. In addition, by entering, contestants represent and warrant that the entries that they submit are their own original creations, do not infringe any other person’s or entity’s rights and has obtained permission from the people featured in the Submission to enter this Contest.
▪ Submissions must be primarily in English or use English sub-titles
▪ (“Entrant”): The Entrant is the one (1) person who is listed and owns the email address as provided by an internet service provider. If any group elects to collaborate on a Submission, they are required to designate one (1) person as the agent of the group to enter the Contest, agree to these rules and accept the prize on behalf of the group. Neither Sponsor nor any of the Contest Parties are liable for any disputes between collaborators arising under or related to the Contest.
▪ Each Submission must be the original work of the Entrant produced for this Contest; it may not have been entered in or won previous contests or awards; it may not have been published previously in any medium; it must not contain obscene or pornographic material; it must not include threats to any person, place, business, group or world peace; i and it must not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations.
▪ Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to (i) remove or blur, or to ask the applicable Entrant to remove or blur and any non-material elements (e.g. small logos on clothing and artwork hanging in the background, etc.).
VOTING: At the commencement of the Public Voting Period on 5/24/10 at 12:01 AM PDT, the thirty six top rated videos, if any, will be posted for public voting on the Contest Web Site and possibly other web sites to be determined at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Each day during the Public Voting Period, anyone may vote a maximum of ten (10) times but may not exceed one (1) vote per video. Voters are encouraged to use the Judging Criteria outlined below to evaluate video submissions. Subsequent votes in excess of stated maximum per voting day by a single person will be disqualified. Judges will have final determination on which videos will win, based upon the judging criteria below. The top thirty six ( 36 ) entrants with the most public votes during the Contest Period will be judged according to the criteria listed below in order to select winners.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: All valid entries will be judged according to the following criteria: Creativity (40%), Perceived Talent (40%) and Suitability for Promotional Purposes (20%). Final judging will be conducted on or about 5/31/10 by an internal panel of judges, whose decisions are final on all matters relating to this contest. In the event of a tie, entries with the highest points in the Content as Related to Perceived Talent category will win; if there is another tie, entries in the Creativity category with the highest points will win.
PRIZES: GRAND PRIZE (1): An opportunity to play for a live audience at a mall location of Sponsor’s choosing Possible dates and locations include the ones shown above.
Actual times and dates of performance at the sole discretion of Sponsor; if Winner is unable to participate during this time period, winner may forfeit prize and an alternate winner selected. Winner is responsible for bringing their own equipment to the performance and for their transportation to/from the venue. Winner must be able to perform with no sound system. No substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any listed prize or prize component for one of equal or greater perceived value if a designated prize or component should become unavailable for any reason. Maximum retail value of prize: $500.00. No real value
CONDITIONS: By participating and/or submitting an entry or accepting any prize, you represent and warrant that the video you submit (a) do not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark or other proprietary right of any person or entity and (b) the footage being submitted is real and accurate. All videos submitted, and all concepts or ideas contained or embodied therein, become the sole property of Sponsor and Sponsor reserves the right to edit the content of each entry as it sees fit. By submitting videos, entrants grant Sponsor and their affiliates and agents permission to use the videos for any purpose and in any media whatsoever, without further compensation to entrants. Selected videos may be posted on Sponsor’s and/or OceanUP.com’s website at any time, if deemed appropriate by Sponsor and at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Potential winners will be notified by phone and/or mail and/or email and may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release (and where legally permissible, a Publicity Release) within seven (7) days of notification date Sponsor reserves the right to select alternate winners. Prizes cannot be used or redeemed in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. No substitutions or transfer of prizes permitted, unless advertised prize becomes unavailable, in which case a prize of equal or greater value (as determined by Sponsor) will be substituted by Sponsor in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification with an alternate winner selected. Taxes and any other expenses and incidentals not mentioned herein are each winner’s sole responsibility. By entering, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules. Acceptance of any prize constitutes consent to use of winner’s name, likeness, statements, and biographical data for advertising/publicity purposes in any medium without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. If any winner is unable to accept a prize for any reason whatsoever, Sponsor retains the right to select an alternate winner from the remaining pool of eligible entries. Entrants hereby release and hold harmless each of the Promotion Entities and their officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, losses and liabilities arising out of this Contest or use or misuse of the prize awarded hereunder. Sponsor assumes no liability or responsibility for damages, losses or injury resulting from this Contest or the acceptance or use of any prize. All entrants further agree that in the event of any third party claims, damages, losses or injuries or death arising from or relating to this Contest, and the winner’s use of any prize, they will indemnify each of the Promotion Entities and their officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all such claims, including the attorneys’ fees related thereto. Entrant is responsible for all on-line charges incurred with any Internet service provider and/or wireless carrier. Sponsor is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures or any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any Website or on-line service, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, incomplete, illegible or misdirected entries. No mechanical reproduction of entries accepted. Mass entries, or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices will be disqualified. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. If the judges determine, in their sole discretion, that there is any suspected or actual tampering with the Contest or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Contest, the judges reserve the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate or modify the Contest and/or conduct a drawing to award the prize using all eligible entries received as of the termination date. If the Contest is terminated due to tampering or technical difficulties prior to its expiration date, notice will be posted at www.oceanUP.com. Any attempt to deliberately damage the content or operation of this Contest is unlawful and subject to legal action.
