Zac Efron Maui Film Festival Shining STAR
Zac Efron is the Maui Film Festival's Shining Star for 2010. He will accept the Shining Star Award in an opening-night tribute June 16 at the Celestial Cinema on the Wailea Gold & Emerald Golf Course.
Festival Director Barry Rivers said: 'We are thrilled to honor Zac Efron with the 2010 Maui Film Festival Shining Star Award, especially on opening night at the Celestial Cinema in the first year of the festival's second decade. With this year's mantra, 'Trust the Future' considered, Zac, an actor with abundant talent, an extraordinary career behind him and an even more brilliant one ahead of him, is an exemplary shining star.'
The festival runs from June 16 to 20 with screenings at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater as well as at the Celestial Cinema. Including more than 35 screenings of narrative, documentary and short films, filmmakers' panels plus culinary arts events and parties at venues throughout the Wailea resort.
