Chloe Bridges Cried During Nick J's Play
Did anyone else cry? Rachel sent in a review: 'I saw Les Miserables with Nick Jonas on July 17. The play was surprisingly REALLY good especially because I knew nothing about the play so it was truly a pleasant surprise. Nick had a rather big role. I just figured they'd throw him in there for like an act but he was in most of the play and did wondrous.
Nick's acting was better than JONAS, but it wasn't as good as all of the other (professional) actors. It was his singing that was really good. But, sitting behind me was a high school theatre class with their teacher and they said Nick was doing badly but 'luckily he didn't do too bad as to ruin the show.'
But my brother who hates the Jonas Brothers even said Nick was really good. People who were taking pictures were getting yelled at by security and flashlights flashed at them to get their attention. It was a really great experience and if anyone has the chance to see Nick in it, I'd suggest they do so.

I'm totally jealous that a person who had no clue about what Les Mis is got to see it but I'm happy that she enjoyed it.
It probably sucks to see Les Mis with Nick in it if you are just going because you like the musical, the people in the audience taking pictures ruins in for others.

really? first bad review about nick j in les mis? ive heard he was decent or basically what that theater class said. imo, nick surprised me because he didn't sound as nasally as usual, but i basically agree with the theater class. when i saw les mis a differnt time with different cast, nick definitely would not be up to par in singing or acting. while nick is probably the worst, a couple of other ppl in the cast are pretty weak too. the show was decent overall... but really lacking that special something i usually feel watching great musicals/plays.

Almost everything I've heard has been overwhelmingly positive. I don't think anybody expected him to be the best performer on stage as he doesn't have near the training. I've even heard his acting praised. Some people come in with preconceptions and look for things to pick apart.

Haha! A few days ago I watched Les Miserables the movie and was surprised to see no Eponine in it. They cut out her character in the movie. I was mad because I love the love triangle between Marius, Cosette and her. But I guess they had to cut her out for time reasons.
I like Cosette because more because of her past when she was little and how she was treated like shit by the Thenandiers. I don't know. I found her to be strong I guess.

I saw Les Miz when I took a trip to London, and I thought nick did fantastic. But then again, I might have been a little biased. I thought Samantha barks was really good too. I'm excited to see her Disney show when it comes out. I'm definitely watching it.

Of course he is not going to be the best, he is 17, his voice is still maturing, he has had the least experience in an adult role in the theatre and the others had more time to prepare. His castmates think he is really talented and I have seen where people that were not fans were surprised with how well he did. If he did this for awhile, he would probably be amazing.

I think Nick is doing well considering he has not done this in years and did not get a lot of rehearsal time. This is a completely different way of singing and acting for him. Cameron Macintosh would not have put him in it if he thought he would not do well. People also have to consider that he is the youngest person to have ever played Marius. Most people are in the 20's and 30's, big difference in maturity of singing and experience. The theatre group probably had to act like they were big know it alls and of course they are going to judge Nick.

He'll just get better from his first performance til the O2 in October too. It's too bad that he has to be compared to a legend like Ball, but even Ms. Salonga said she was happy with what she heard.
