Jonas Brothers Tampa Fans ‘Not Happy’

  • Anonymous

Wtf?! Freakin lies much. I was there they all came out and waved to us. Nick Ustreamed obviously. Papa J made several announcments. People were bummed but everybody was still really nice just chilling, talking, and haveing a good time. Theese people should have asked the workers for more info, security new all the details you just had to ask. Smh.

I was there too. I think Pappa J and the boys handled it brilliantly considering. I’m really bummed that they didn’t get to play the concert. But i met them later so it’s all good :)

Someone needs to fire this news reporter though…lol get your facts straight love.

To everyone saying “get over it,” please shut up because obviously you weren’t there. Put yourself in our shoes. Yes, people cancel concerts all the time and yes, there was a good amount of shows that they canceled on this tour already and that sucks! I won’t deny that. The difference is, those shows were canceled ahead of time. Imagine already being at the venue expecting to see a show…standing outside in the pouring rain (keep in mind, the ticket said “rain or shine”) and then 2 hours after the show was suppose to start, have the dad (not the boys) come out and say it was canceled. How upset and disappointed would you be in that moment? Sure, it’s easy to say “get over it” if it didn’t happen to you because you couldn’t possibly understand how it would feel. I’m an older fan so I understood it was beyond their control and for safety reasons, it had to be canceled but there were tons of younger girls just heart broken and devastated and it was so sad to see. The lady standing next to me was pissed because they drove 5hrs to get there. There was another lady there with her daughter and once they made the announcement, the little girl started crying and was like “mommy, this was the worse birthday ever!” :( I actually considered myself somewhat lucky because at least I was able to get into the venue. There were 1000’s of people waiting outside the gate because security closed it off and stopped letting people in after a certain point. I really felt bad for them because at least the people inside had access to the bathrooms and food vendors. I think I would have been even more upset if I was stuck outside the venue. They were stuck waiting out there and getting no updates at all! At least for the people inside, Mr. Jonas came out twice to make an announcement and we even got a glimpse of the guys & Demi. I am completely disappointed and upset but I don’t blame the boys, Demi or anyone from their camp in any way. If there is anyone to blame, it’s the stupid venue because they should have been more prepared for it. It’s freakin’ florida and it rains everyday here…it just doesn’t make any sense! I understand why they had to cancel…not only was it unsafe for the people who were going to sit in the first 3 sections that were under water, but it was also unsafe for all of the performers. I just wish the guys came out themselves to make the announcement. Oh well, hopefully they’ll do something special for Tampa. So unfortunate and such bad luck to have it rain that much JUST in that area! I didn’t know that until watching this video. Crazy!

Beacuse the venue was flooded they should of gone and meet people outside
    ?

seriously, it’s getting on my nerves how the news is painting this story. they are trying to make it seem as if the concert being canceled was JB’s fault. the guys and their management team don’t control the weather. from the pictures anyone could tell that the venue was a mess and completely unsafe. from the looks of it the water looked unsanitary and probably would have made many people sick. the fans who they interviewed on the news need to calm down!!

  • Anonymous

i don’t understand why half the people are mad at JB hello THEY DON”T CONTROL THE WEATHER!!! seriously it ticks me off

  • Anonymous

its not the jonas brothers fault!!! blame mother nature but its florida, it rains alot there in the summer, thats why indoor venues are so much better

  • Anonymous

JB met people at the venue later the ones that stayed and they still did their m&g so i don’t see the problem

I know right! Did you see Bay News 9? It was on there too! lol But they actually got the facts right and weren’t makeing up lies. Stupid reporter!

  • Anonymous

I was there and yes i was pissed off. But not at JB. And this news reporter really is just running her mouth. JB came out and was very apologetic, well either that or i am one hell of a good hallucinator! JS. People are entitled to be annoyed and angry, but not a JB. It’s not like they didn’t try their very hardest for a long time to try and drain the damn water, but there was just too much. It’s just something you have to get over unfortunately. Hopefully they will come back and play again at some point and i’ll be able to see them in concert then. But if they can’t reschedule it’s not their fault. Shit happens.

    Ohhh I see.
I love these guys more and more everyday!!!
    That was sweet from them…

  • Anonymous

The news are just trying to make a big deal out of it. The Jonas Brothers did come out, they even did their Meet & Greet and they tried like crazy to get the water pumped out so they could have the show.

In the end, it had to be cancelled. And where I was standing the security said SEVERAL TIMES that that show was cancelled. People kept hanging around anyway.

    This was beyond their control.

  • Anonymous

You couldn’t have said it better. Honestly that is the way it went down.

People think “Oh Nick had a Ustream of it” that was much much earlier!!!! Please realize the sun goes down around 6 here. The concert was at 7.

I’ve been to that same venue when it was called Ford Amphitheater for a No Doubt concert in the rain!!! Maybe it wasn’t clogged or a flash flood but they managed!

JONAS FANS: Think about the people who tried so hard to get front row seats or just good tickets. Now have to return them. SO yeah they might see them live again but the chances of getting great tickets again are very slim. SO be considerate because in that case you know you’d be furious.

  • Lindsay

It says rain or shine it doesn’t say flood. God damn you fans who are making a huge deal are such little brats.

  • Anonymous

Seriously? We’re not “ungrateful” some of us waited 3 hours. We understand that it’s Florida and and this happens. The fact is that THEY DIDN’T COME OUT TO APOLOGIZE. The least they could of done was waved. So don’t call us ungrateful. It doesn’t matter if they did a Meet and Greet after either, Not everyone could stay. It’s the fact that they couldn’t come out and say ANYTHING to us fans. Figure out all the details before you open your big mouth.

    Apparently they aren’t re-scheduling though.

Don’t see why it made the news though! Slow week in Florida?!
I know it’s probably upsetting but what were the tour group all supposed to do? Perform an acoustic set on the soggy grass?
From what I hear they really waited as long as possible before cancelling the show. They could have given up 2 hours before that when it started to flood.
Wow is all I can say!

pshhh some seats underwater?!? The entire floor level was underwater. The equipment was underwater. The stage was getting soaked. It was comeing down the walls by the TV screens. The news got it all wrong…again.

LMAO WTF. This is just stupid now.

  • Anonymous

We waited hours in a line that didnt have contact to security guards telling us it was canceled. It was word of mouth that they were waiting. SO if you heard it several times, good for you but not everyone made it inside to hear that. The 10,000 outside didn’t see the Jonas Brothers they didnt hear Papa Jonas or anything.

NICK USTREAMED in the afternoon!!! People were still driving there at 7 or 8. If it was that flooded why didn’t they cancel it before we wasted our time. Thats why people are mad, because we were soaked and nasty for hours for nothing. So if you dont know the entire story keep your comments to yourself.

  • Anonymous

They did go on stage, Nick is posted the video on his U-stream from the stage itself.

I got my road dogs tickets today though:)

  • superJOEman

Why do they need to make news about this?! tsk tsk.. Don’t blame it on the JB or the Jonas Group. Blame it on the Summer Rain!!

good point!! and i’m sure staff at the venue probably told Nick, Kevin, and Joe they couldn’t go out b/c the crowd would get crazy and their staff couldn’t handle it. these guys are the first to go out and meet fans, so if they didn’t it was definitely because they were instructed not to!!

First 12 rows. And it was 30 inches which is roughly 3 feet so nobody would have drowned, but I appreciate your sentiment though. :)

Be mad at the Venue all you like, but not at JB.

And to the person saying no doubt played in the rain there, it’s completely different, have you not see the pictures? Over 1,000 seats (I think near the stage also) were under water so the chances are even if you had a good seat and they went ahead, you’d be swimming. lol and they also couldn’t get the equipment to the stage and working because of the water as well.

The venue should have been more prepared for it. The boys couldn’t do anything about it.

    JONAS ARE SAD!!

    THE PROBLEM ARE THE RAIN

    INMATTURES

  • Anonymous

IT wasn’t the boys fault. I was there and I was one of the lucky ones who actually got in. Even though I was drenched. It was not safe at all for them to preform. The 3 sections of seats were disappearing underwater. They worked their butts off to have this show go on but it was just to much to do in such a short time. It was the venues fault not JB’s. You guys have to realize that yea we were kind of crushed because we got to the venue expecting a show. It would of been different if it was canceled like the ones at the beginning of the tour. but it was just so short notice. and yes I am an older fan and i understand why they had to do this. It was just devastating to see the little girls crying in their parents arms.
The boys did also come out and meet fans an hour after it was called off. I was one of the lucky ones who got to touch their hand and say hi. You could tell by their faces that they were very upset. They kept apologizing over and over. The boys did say they would come back and do something VERY SPECIAL for Tampa because we were so patient. They usually never break their promises. So everyone keep your chin up..they’ll be back :)

the guys don’t need to apologize, they did everything they could to put on a show. the rain wasn’t their fault and the venue’s poor flood and crowd management wasn’t their fault either. the jonas brothers have big hearts and i’m sure they would have come out and done something for everyone if it were possible. there was probably circumstances that didn’t allow for them to do that. the jonas brothers were probably going through as much hell or more so back stage as the fans were outside. give them the benefit of the doubt!! so many people are quick to turn on them.

  • brookeee

    seriously, get over it
half these people would have seen the boys before and should be grateful for that
next time you complain that you cant see them for the 20th time, think of the fans who live in places they have never come
thAts right, now shut your faces!

  • Danger-ous

Are we done with the pity parties now? I took off work, drove just as far, waited in the same rain you all did and had second row seats. You just have to accept circumstances as they are and realize there is a reason for everything.

JB didn’t come out because perhaps they would have been booed profusely and maybe they didn’t want to face that. It’s not their job to come out and appease the fans, delivering the bad news.

It was a totally ‘fake’ broadcast. I was there and it was pissing me off that they made it seem like everyone was miserable and unhappy. We were soaked but we were loving it. JB came out to seay hello. Their father and BRP apologized made announcments. They waited as long as they could to see if they could make this work. Grown men were under the catwalks trying to unclog the drains so that the show could go on. It was impossible. They did the best they could and this broadcast was a bunch of bs.

  • Anonymous

woah who said we were pissed at them anyways? we’re definitely pissed at the venue for how they handled it. and the meet and greet wasn’t announced or anything. i’m pretty sure only people that went to the tour buses got to meet them so not everybody did. and the other reason we’re pissed is that they aren’t rescheduling it. i understand that we get our money back but we wanted to see a show and it couldn’t happen and yes i know it rains in florida. no shit but it could have been handled a whole lot better then it was on the venues part. jesuss

  • julz

Dude I was one of the fans there and I drove 1 and half hours to get there IT WAS POURING RAIN! and it is outside so everyone is getting soking wet!! My seats were third row and UNDERWATER! They close the doors on all of the fans waiting to get into the venue making them wait in the POURING RAIN, they were banging on the gates to get in. Make us wait ANOTHER hour and a Half Just to tell us it was cancelled!! I was soooo PO’ed that they couldn’t have told us before and that they just stringed us along!!! THEY DIDN’T EVEN COME OUT TO SAY SORRY!! that is what made me MAD! oh and to put the cherry on top it was my 16th Birthday! GREAT DAY PEOPLE! really there was no reason to be mad :I

  • Lindsay

Oh my God! Wow way to be spoiled little brats. It’s not their faults that it rained and flooded. Would you rather stnad in filthy water and get sick then them being concerned about it. They all said they were disappointed that it happened. They really wanted to perform. God. I hate fans these days they are so ungrateful.

  • Anonymous

um if that was you you’d be pissed off too. and sure its not their fault that it rained or flooded and we aren’t mad at them, people exaggerate stuff and make us look bad. but try being there and standing in the pouring rain and being trapped there for 4 hours it sucks, and i got sick anyways from just being in the rain. we know that they are disappointed that they couldn’t perform but i wish they could have done at least something for us but that didn’t happen

  • Anonymous

Ok u all r pissing me off!!! No one was mad at the jonas brothers no one was upset about the rain!! We were upset that the venue lied to us!! Who ever built the venue dissent plan for rain and they said they were pumping it out- well they weren’t they wouldn’t scenery they thought the flood would magically disappear!! The venue didn’t have the guts to tells us anything until 8:30 when they rlly shouldn’t came put with the truth at the beginning!

Do you know why they didn’t cancel it sooner? Because they were all running around trying their very best to try and get it sorted out so the show could go ahead. They were doing everything in their power to try and save the show. I know you’re obviously upset about it – trust me i was there too and i am absolutely gutted and devastated! – but they worked their asses off for us to try and give us a show. But in then end they had to give up, because there was just too much. Please try to understand, it wasn’t their fault. And they gave out the announcement late because they were trying to go ahead with the show until they were forced to give in and cancel.

But i know how gutted you feel, believe me.

clearly, the venue should have been prepared for this type of weather and handled the situation better!! i’m sure folks at the venue were telling JB and their management team, that they are taking care of the water and have it all under control….that’s probably why JB’s management team didn’t cancel the show earlier. JB was probably being kept in the dark by the venue as well!!

Smh.

Finally, someone else that was acutally there! All these people are making it sound worse than it acutally was and putting a bad name for us. They aren’t gonna even want to come back to Tampa with all these little girls and media saying we’re mad at them personally. It’s Florida, we have summer afternoon showers!!
