Demi Lovato is ‘doing great’ in rehab, a source told E! News: ‘She is getting help and on her way to getting better. Righ now, Demi is ‘isolated’ and isn’t allowed to speak to friends or family or to have visitors, to better focus on treatment. Family source told E! : ‘She is at a real facility that specializes in helping adolescent and adult women with the types of issues she has battled throughout her life. Details about her care are going to remain private.’ The breakdown had nothing to do with Disney, a source said:
‘She had just had a long break [before going on tour in South America]. This is all about a pre-existing condition she’s now dealing with.I don’t think Demi or others are suffering too much from Disney’s pressure. You have to remember, this is just where most young stars happen to be right now.
It used to be network TV, with shows like Saved by the Bell, now it just happens to be at Disney because that’s just where the talent happens to be, and more people notice it. It’s not because of Disney. Look, this is a beautiful 18-year-old woman, incredibly talented, touring with enough breaks when needed. This is not about pressure or Disney, this is about a pre-existing condition, nothing more. She was bullied in school, has fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting. This has been a lifetime struggle.’
A backup dancer revealed: ‘I’ll admit there were some times she seemed a little.. I’d use the word high maintenance. But I could definitely see it, especially with the people who worked a lot with her on the movie…I could see it as a possibility.‘ A source said that Demi believed that Alex Welch ‘ratted her out’ about her partying to the Jonases’ dad. When Demi punched Alex, she ‘did not hit her back, was totally clueless.‘
Demi’s father Patrick told Us: ‘The cutting thing is full of bologna. Demi would never injure herself. She’s not into drugs or alcohol. Last year she was on the road, touring 300 out of the 365 days of the year. When she got home, she was recording and stuff. It’s just the pressures of the industry.’
Conversation he had with Demi: ‘She said, ‘I love my life, dad, but I do wonder what it would be like to have friends all around you.. I want her to be happy and do whatever she wants to do. Don’t do what other people want you to do. Do what you want to do. If she wants to sit back and get fat and have a bunch of kids, good for her. If she wants to get out there and be a star, then go for it. Whatever you do, do it 100% and try to do the right thing. That’s the most important thing.’
