Demi Lovato Robin Roberts ABC News interview excerpts: 'I've spoken openly about being bullied throughout the past few years, but one thing that I've never been able to feel comfortable talking about was the effects that it had on my life, afterwards. I literally didn't know why they were being so mean to me.
When I would ask them why, they would just say, 'Well, you're fat. I developed an eating disorder, and that's kind of what I've been dealing with ever since. I was compulsively overeating when I was eight years old. So, I guess, for the past 10 years I've had a really unhealthy relationship with food.' Demi cut herself to cope with her emotions: 'It was a way of expressing my own shame, of myself,
On my own body. I was matching the inside to the outside. And there were some times where my emotions were just so built up, I didn't know what to do. The only way that I could get instant gratification was through an immediate release on myself.' On Jonas Brothers' Camp Rock Tour issues:
'I was performing concerts on an empty stomach. I was losing my voice from purging. I was self-medicating. I was not taking medication for depression, and I literally was so emotionally whacked out that I took it out on someone that meant a lot to me.' On punching Alex Welch in the face:
'I take 100 percent, full responsibility. I feel horrible. [She] was my friend.' Demi on rehab treatment: 'For the first time in my life, I started to feel.. A picture of my little sister, on my little bulletin board, was one of the main things that kept me going. I just kept thinking, 'OK, set this example for your little sister. The real reason why I'm sitting down with you, is to open up the eyes of so many young girls, that it doesn't have to be this way.'
Interview airs on Friday at 10 PM on '20/20' and on 'Good Morning America.'

no offense but setting a good example for her sister may be staying a bit thinner...madison seems like an awesome kid but she is way too large for someone so young! anorexia and bulimia is unhealthy but so is overeating. of course there is a proper way of being healthy...eating properly and frequent exercise and letting your weight fall naturally where it may, not starving and vomitting.
regardless i love demi and wish her much success. i went to a camp rock tour show and she sang beautifully and looked beautiful (not too large or too thin) so this is surprising to me.

Clearly the therapy is NOT working, they're stealing her money. She seems even more mentally unstable than before. She's scaring me and her family + friends are crazy too. She's just surrounded by chemically imbalanced people all around.
Although I think it's great that she had taken steps to get help I think it's way too early for her to be doing interviews and speaking out about this.
She admitted that she cannot be in front of the cameras right now because she can't handle it. Maybe she just needs to take care of herself.

Also... she still is in fact going to outpatient treatment. Gaining weight often happens, but she will lose weight in time once she gets into a proper workout routine. She's just starting. In response to her still having mental issues, idk what you're referring to... She seems to be okay imho. She does have self-conscious issues but it's all things she's working on... It's an ongoing thing. Anywho, trying not to stan, but have sharing my honest opinion, Don't shoot me.

It takes a lot of strength to talk about it openly. Anyone who cuts doesn't necessarily preach it out & about. They usually try to cover it up with bracelets or wear long sleeves often. She's strong for admitting herself into treatment with the help of parents/managers and speaking out about the issue. But ia with the rest of your comment. Limelight is the wrong place for her right now, but that is why she quit SWAC. She's just doing music.

Also... she still is in fact going to outpatient treatment. Gaining weight often happens, but she will lose weight in time once she gets into a proper workout routine. She's just starting. In response to her still having mental issues, idk what you're referring to... She seems to be okay imho. She does have self-conscious issues but it's all things she's working on... It's an ongoing thing. Anywho, trying not to stan, but have sharing my honest opinion, Don't shoot me.
