FUCK OFF WITH ALL THE FUCKING HARRY POTTER SHIT!

OCEANUP I WILL NEVER USE THIS SITE AGAIN IM SICK OF SEEING HARRY POTTER SHIT ITS GAY AS FUCK!

  • ParaMonster

I guess I just don’t get it. Is it an online reading experience? I don’t fully understand how we’re involved just yet so if any of you guys have a better idea, please feel free to explain. I love Harry Potter (can’t wait for the movie!!) I just hope it gets explained better.

I thought it was too highly anticipated too. I mean, I’m excited for it, but not nearly as excited as I would have been if she announced there was gonna be another book or movie.

All of the HP cast is like, ”Oh, I’m so ready to move on blah blah bkah.” Yeah, they say that now, but they’re gonna miss it. So much. I’ve been in the same Christmas musical for the past 8 years and I’ve played the same character, and last Christmas was the last time we’re ever gonna do it. And I miss it more than anything. It’s the little things you experience from musicals or movies that help you hold onto it forever.

    *Que dramatic, corny @$$ music.

You get sorted into a house, you get assigned your own wand, you have a profile. You can also order the e-books from the site. JK Rowling has a whole long explanation. I don’t remember where I found it.

    Okay, here is the explanation:

“All about PottermoreUsers will go through a quick registration process and then choose their own “magical username”.

They will then be given a personal home page called “the gateway” that will represent their own journey through each of the seven Harry Potterbooks.

Users move through the story chapter by chapter and are presented with “Moments” which are scenes of significance from each chapter.

In the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, there are 44 Moments, for readers to experience.

Tarek Nseir, chief executive of the digital agency TH_NK, which helped design the site, said: “We have tried to set the scene but allow your imagination to do the rest.”

As fans move through the site they can scroll over different aspects of each scene such as a Privet Drive sign or a cupboard under the stairs.

They can then click on items such as Harry’s sock and uncover new writing from Rowling and additional information about the characters.

Readers will be given a key to access Gringotts Wizarding Bank where a virtual currency will be available to enable them to choose items from a shopping list needed to complete their journey.

They will be issued with one of 33,000 wands and can collect items such as chocolate frog cards and spout flavoured beans to put in their trunk.

Users will answer a series of questions selected at random from a vast pool and will be sorted into one of Hogwarts four houses based on their answers.

The chosen house will be the centre of their experience but Rowling insisted that those not placed in Gryffindor, Harry’s house, should not be disappointed as they will be offered an extra quarter of a chapter to meet prefects and learn about the “true nature” of their own house.

Rowling disclosed that she always considered Gryffindor and Slytherin to be the two closest houses and said that Harry himself could have gone into either. She said she had tested the pool of questions on her own family and each of them was sorted into the house she had predicted.

The author said that each users profile would grow as they progress through the books and add their own comments, drawings and pictures as they go. They will mix potions, challenge other users to duels and interact with various characters along the way.

Mr Nseir said: “The future will be decided by you the reader. It’s the same story but with one new addition, you.””

There are videos of the event.
I think practically it says that you will get to play a part in the 7 books. You will attend Hogwarts alongside Harry, Ron and Hermione, but you will be sorted and if you get in another house ( not Gryffindor), then you will get half a chapter, Gryffindor will follow Harry.
She will also be a member and post stories she has written, for example a story about a young Minerva adn how she fell in love with a Muggle, or how Harry’s uncle and aunt met.
It will start with book 1, but eventually book 2 will be added, and so will the other books.

LET ME BE YOUR SLAVE, JO

  • kary_redfern

I’ll be disappointed If I end up in Gryffindor.
I want to be in Slytherin.

  • Sahina

i’ll be disappointed if i’m in either Hufflepuff or Slytherin. i just hate the colours green and yellow

    yeah. colours are my reason

    ¬.¬

but everytime i take a sorting hat test, i’m always put into Hufflepuff.
    ugh.

  • MileyEqualsAwesome

I’m so excited!!! I’m excited to get sorted and all but mostly for all the new information about characters and places that she’s going to be releasing with it.

That owl and trees and spiders coming from the book was creepy bro.

  • Hannahh

To me, it reminds me of the old, old Harry Potter website. Which had the sorting hat and Ollivander’s. I don’t know if any of you remember that.

It is exciting!! It’s a whole new way to experience the books! Although Jo looks absolutely beautiful, the video does not explain it so well. This is something for potter fans to be excited about. We’re getting the chance to be thrown in the books, experience Hogwarts ourselves. The really awesome thing is that it’s Jo who’s doing this not a fansite (nothing against them, I love them!). Once it’s hit you, the vastness of Pottermore, you will be excited.

Was I the only one that was a bit disappointed after hearing what it was because of all of the hype?

  • Anonymous

No, you weren’t. I was disappointed to. In my opinion, it was anticipated more than it should’ve been
