Thx Veline, Laura, Miriam & @thisiscristyj . Madeleine interview HERE!

@ Cologne, Germany Hyatt. Joe Jonas‘ solo debut album, Fastlife, enters The Billboard 200 at #15, with sales of 18K copies, reports Yahoo! Jonas Brothers’ fastest-selling album, A Little Bit Longer sold 525,000 copies in its first week in June 2008. For every 29 fans who bought that album, one bought his album.

Fastlife sales are about one-quarter of Nick Jonas & the Administration’s Who I Am, which debuted at #3 in February 2010 with sales of 82K. Jessica Lowndes to E! Online, did you talk to Joe about his music? We did.

[Mostly] each other’s projects really. It was inspiring to talk to him because he was working on his solo stuff and I’ve been working on my solo stuff. I’ve taken like a year and a half to really get it right. Collaborate with Joe? I mean, I feel like he’s supertalented. I would be lucky to work with him. That would be cool.

+ flawless Joe @ Virgin Megastore in Paris.

I wish people would stop comparing Nick and Joe’s first week sales. The comparison is not fair. Nick’s CD came out after LVTT when the JoBros were still pretty hot and before Bieber took all their fans. Of course he would sell more than Joe. The 80,000 looks good compared to 18,000 but was actually pretty bad compared to the last two JoBros CDs. I doubt Nick Jonas and the Administration will open with 80,000 when their next CD comes out.

The shit sales of Greyson, Cody and now Joe just proves that copying the Justin Bieber model, which includes collabs with rappers or R&B artists, dancing, talking about girls 24/7, and talking like you come from the “street” does not guarantee success. David Archuleta did none of these things and had 1/100th of the promotion for his CD but outsold all of them in his first week. What does this tell you? Yes the strategy worked for Justin but so far it has not worked for any other young, male singer. Maybe it’s time for these people to do something totally new and try to be original. Believe it or not, you do not need to be the next Justin Bieber to be successful. Hopefully Hollywood Records will give Joe the chance to do the album he wants to do next time rather than force him to do the album of Chris Brown rejects on Fastlife.

The economy is not good. The target audience is not the money making audience of tweens who gave Miley and then the Jonas Brothers the high album sales. Fastlife is aimed at older fans. And Bieber is losing fans already. Ever since he started dating Selena. Fans of teen idols move on to the next single cute guy if they think their guy is taken. At least this is the first time I heard a Jonas brother on the radio this past summer. They were playing See No More.

If you have heard and liked FAST LIFE you should buy it, the problem isnt the people just don’t like the record, is that everyone download it illegally.
I’m from Argentina here the CD don’t cost 10 dollars here cost fifty but still I already bought my copy.
EVERYONE OUT THERE WHO CALL THEMSELF JOE SUPPORTERS AND HAVE FAST LIFE ILLEGALLY SHOULD STOP, AND CARE ABOUT HOW HARD HE WORK TO MAKE IT.

much of all this is true.

people should stop comparing and just appreciate the work that Joe did.

All boy bands end and this is just the end for the JB. Even if they got back together and put out an album, it still probably won’t do that good. That’s the problem with being a pop act there’s no such thing as longevity.

Joe worked so hard for the album! I mean, the sales is not totally important for him. What’s important is for him to show what he got. His passion for music. And BTW, Fast Life is not even released in the entire world yet.

Tomorrow, Oct.22, will be the album launching of Fast Life here in the Philippines. <3

Most boy bands or pop stars really only get a few years of the fan and money before the fans move onto the next hot group/guy. They must know that and hope they invest their money well so at least they then have money to pursue other interests or try to reinvent themselves as performers.

Joe does not deserve all the blame for the low sales. Others who deserve blame are: Hollywood Records for allowing Joe to make this album; his management for the ineffective marketing of the album; his publicist for failing to set up a showmance to correspond with the release of the CD ( a crying Selena/Demi at one of Joe’s promo concerts would have created big buzz and easily led to 10,000 more sales); his stylist; Chris Brown (just because he’s Chris Brown); Under the Mistletoe; Oceanup for only having 100 posts a week on Joe’s new CD instead of 1000, shawty, and Joe ‘s eyebrows. I think that’s about it. Lots of blame to go around.

IKR!!!!!! I AGREE WITH WHAT YOU SAID BEFORE TOO:)

Wow. Isn’t that even worse than the sales for It’s About Time? I’m not throwing shade here, I’m just saying.

  • shanghai123

Many of the critics did have some good things to say but felt it was not original enough and a bit “overworked”. He’s a talented guy but needs a bit more time to find his own individual style and for people to accept that he has grown up and not always be comparing him to Nick or to the Joe of Jonas Bros days though I miss them and that music still.

  • OhMy…

    So proud of him! <3

    definition please?

    derp

1: The word that describes a particularly retarded face: A retarded smile, and the eyes pointing in different directions.

2: A word merely used as filler

1: Used in a picture (let’s use the megaman image just for the hell of it), derp is the quintessential word for itself. ‘Nuff said.

    2: Person 1: “So… I’m bored”

    *5 minutes later*

    Person 1: “Derp…”

    Person 2: “Yeah”
