Joe Jonas got a jumpstart on his 22nd birthday celebrations in Las Vegas – in a big way.
Starting off Saturday, Jonas, whose actual birthday is Aug. 15, caused a splash at Liquid Pool Lounge when he spent the afternoon poolside in a VIP cabana with pals.
“Female fans surrounded the area, trying to get a glimpse of [Joe] in his bathing suit,” a source tells PEOPLE.
Following his fun in the sun, Jonas and his entourage then headed to the Bellagio Hotel where they were treated to a meal from Akira Back, the executive chef at Yellowtail Japanese Restaurant & Lounge.
After dinner, Jonas and friends made a quick stop at Deuce Lounge, where they played blackjack – and drew another crowd.
“Joe was swarmed by nearly 20 female fans dying to get an autograph or photo with [him],” the source says. “After signing a few autographs and meeting with fans, Joe finally made it to Haze Nightclub where he rocked the crowd with a special live set, performing tracks off of his debut solo album FastLife.”
The performance, which ended at around 2:30 a.m., left Jonas, who will soon join Britney Spears on her European tour, in the VIP area where he was “chatting with a bevy of beautiful girls.”
“Joe was completely surprised when he was presented with a specialty pre-birthday cake in the shape of a bright colored keyboard,” the source says. “Partygoers were holding up sparklers and shooting confetti into the air while toasting Joe to another successful year.”
