This is what I've finally figured out. Up until now Nick has been under the thumb of his parents. I'm sure that they have "urged" him in the past to keep quiet about his relationships and not confirm them. They have had the last say.

I think that Nick is saying "I'm an adult now, I can do what I want". He can call the shots and he wants people to see that he is in a relationship. He's more free now to live his life on his own terms and I say more power to him.

She's a strong woman, a cancer survivor and Nick is way behond his peers in maturity. It's no wonder they have found common ground. It's easy to see why they have fallen for each other.

i never thought i'd say this but i'd much rather nick be dating sam than delta. first of all, sam is an appropriate age. and she is an INCREDIBLE singer. the two of them together was a musical match made in heaven. and she never seemed like she loved all the attention like delta. i think this is just a phase for nick, like joe's phase with ashley (but hopefully not as intense... wink wink)

Yeah, I'm starting to agree. It's like we didn't know him at all. I understand people grow up and change. But it's like his whole life has been an act up until now and now that he's 18, the REAL Nick Jonas is coming out.
