'who i am' was a good album, and nick knew it wouldn't be really big or successful (sounds bad when you say it like that, but it's the truth). so many times he hinted it saying "I think the best thing is just to go into this solo project without any expectations." i love the 70's vibe but i think his lyrics were kind of stupid sometimes. the lyrics to "rose garden" and "olive & an arrow" sounded cheesy, sappy, and lame to me.
Eh. Nick's performances to "Stay" irritated the shit out of me. How hard can one guy try to be sexy? And the teenage girls, with their raging hormones fully in tact, fell for his stupid choreography every single time.

There was nothing "original" about Nick's album, that's why it didn't sell well. Sounded like a lame imitation of a bunch of other musical artists & styles before him. Uhhh anyone ever listened to Stevie Wonder or Prince before? Plus he just sounded stupid & not sexy when he was trying to sing like that. Nick needs to figure out his sound. I think the songs that were best were his piano singer/songwriter ones, he doesn't have the voice or swagger for blues or funk or anything else. Just sounded like a stupid 18 year old who just realized that music existed & tried to copy it
his live version of the song sounded like an obnoxious high-pitched animal in heat & his strip tease was LOL worthy
