I think we all know Adele deserved this award, but I'll leave it that.
I'm really surprised Adele didn't win as she had the best year out of anyone. Not that Taylor didn't have a big year but it wasn't dominate like her "Fearless" year. I actually kinda forgot all about her album till the CMAs.
Adele deserved and should have won Artist of the Year but maybe they didn't want to give their biggest award to someone who wasn't coming to the show.

IA Adele definitely is the artist of this year, her album went #1, she has 2 #1 singles and I think has the top selling album all this year in 2011. Someone Like You is still getting lots of airplay. I haven't even heard new Taylor tunes since 'Story of Us' which peaked at #41 over the summer....
