Nick Jonas Hopes To Return To Smash

Nick Jonas HP interview: Jonas spent two months in the gym just working on his legs and core to prepare for the physical demands of a part that leaves even fit actors out of breath. He’s also tweaked his diet, which he already carefully monitors as a diabetic.

‘More than anything, it’s about pacing yourself and trying to understand your own body and how you’ll respond and react both in the physical sense and just the major life adjustment that comes into play when you make the leap into something like this.’

Michael Urie: ‘I have never met anyone who has gobs of fans like Nick does. He is so incredibly aware of them, respectful of them and gracious with them. He always stops to talk with them and take photos.’

Nick: ‘I loved the show. I thought it was fantastic. I thought Daniel, specifically, was amazing in his commitment to the role and the ownership that he took, not only in this theater every night but to the whole community,” he says. “It was pretty inspiring to see his performance and I only hope to give one that’s close to it.’

I hear Nick is very serious. Finch is not a serious person.

I preferred the more serious take on Finch though. It made it seem as if Finch was actually thinking about how to do things, very deliberate in pulling the strings and manipulating these things into happening instead of just falling into some lucky circumstances.

Is it true that they ask nick on an interveiw about who he choose selena or miley and he pleaded the fifth lol

that was how Darren portrayed Finch, falling into lucky circumstances and happy coincidences. Daniel was a determined Finch, but he made sure to be comic about it as well. the show is a musical comedy, not a drama; Finch isn’t supposed to be too serious, despite aiming to reach the top of the corporate ladder. J.B. Biggley and Wally aren’t serious roles, and they’re respectively the President and Chairman of the Board! it’s supposed to be a funny show with funny characters, not serious business folk.

He was cute on the live show. He was himself. He’s a serious guy, w/a dry sense of humor, and nice manners. Nothing wrong with that.

you say that like he is boring and has no sense of humor.
a lot of people say he is boring but it’s just not true. believe me I thought that too for a while but then I payed more attention to him. he’s just more mature and has a different sense of humor.
now I haven’t seen the show (only clips on youtube) but he’s said to have done great so maybe he pulled it off.

Nick’s Finch was pretty funny though. It wasn’t like he was stone faced the whole time through. He was more serious when dealing with Rosemary, which made sense to me because it gave me the sense that Finch thought relationships/women would distract him from his goal, which is why realizing he was in love with her knocked him for a complete loop.

Just my opinion, but I like a more manipulative Finch, and that’s how Nick is playing it.

a serious person can make a joke, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they are serious. Nick does have a sense of humor, a dry one, but a sense of humor nonetheless. however, I hear that that doesn’t take away from the fact that he portrays Finch too seriously than the character calls for, and that’s what I’m saying. nothing against Nick himself, because I know he has a sense of humor. it’s just not shown with Finch.

He was incredible in Smash tonight. He’s is so talented and proved tonight that he can act in a mature role. Very proud of him.

He sang beautifully on Smash. My favorite is still his rendition of It Takes Two from Hairspray. I hope when he starts actually recording Jobro music, that he and Joe both use their voices more and they don’t get drowned out by the music. It Takes Two was the song that has most showed off the amazing things his voice can do.

“It was pretty inspiring to see his performance and I only hope to give one that’s close to it.”

he needs to be a lot more eager in the role, and let loose if he wants to do that. Daniel was a very fun Finch, and I hear Nick is very serious. Finch is not a serious person. Nick has to change a few things if he wants to be up to par with Daniel.

Was this interview before or after his breakup?
Sometimes you have to wonder if they really broke up. He seems happier than he ever has. On his twitter. With his fans after his show. This reminds me of how he was in England during Les Mis.

Or if they were really even together? :D

I’m glad Nick’s happiness is based on doing what he loves, and not who he is “dating”
