how hard is it to get into the usa for foreign musicians? God, they’ve been playing 1D like crazy in Australia and South America…

btw, is it weird that I don’t really like their music, because it is not my style, but I completely do love them as persons? They´re just so adorable and fun to watch.

think of it this way: Delta Goodrem has been trying to break into the U.S.A. since April 2005… as of March 2012, the only people who know of her know her as Nick Jonas’ now ex-girlfriend (and that’s not too many people outside of the Jonas fan base. the security guard down where Nick is performing doesn’t even know who Delta is).

I’d say groups have it easier (ex. Beatles) as there’s usually always at least one person in the group people are attracted to. so the guys may not have it too hard to be known, especially since they’re aiming to start at a kids’ age fan base. however, being known and taken seriously are two different things.

I’m sorry but that must be one of the most ungrateful things I’ve heard. I’m a uk fan and we had to accept that the boys were going to america but we understood how amazing they are and that they were born for greater things. They deserve every success so stop whining. We never did and yet america got them about twice the amount of fans already. We are just proud and so should you be.Have a nice day.———–honey, I’m very proud of them. I just saw their music video on TV for the first time not two hours ago and nearly teared up. however, I won’t pretend I’m looking forward to the overexposure that comes with Nickelodeon and Disney teenyboppers, nor overexposure in general that has happened with past interests of mine. I’m being honest here, not ungrateful. and I love how you use “we” as if you’ve personally asked every single U.K. One Direction fan how they feel about the boys going to the U.S. and they all said they were proud, especially since I’ve seen many U.K. fans online complaining they were “losing” the boys to “the Americans.” you may be happy with every opportunity the boys have, but don’t pretend you have your entire nation backing you up; you don’t.

Ive supported them since x factor but…
Im sorry but im not gonna cry over one direction.. I love their music but crying at their music video is soo fucking sad…

it wasn’t their music video I was almost crying at -___- it was the fact that they made it onto an American television.

but this is my point with how U.K. fans feel different. one of them is so passionate and proud, and the other finds passionate, proud fans pathetic. clearly, you can never win.

How are there days where they do two concerts?
That must be so tiring and stressful.

oh boy. performing at the Kids Choice Awards will definitely move them over into BTR territory and get them exposure. so much for being one of the few U.S. fans who knew them :(

wow. their management has them absolutely booked solid with shows for next year. they’re going to end up burning these boys out…

  • LoveToLove

I live in this super little town in Texas and today their song what makes you beautiful came on, since it’s such a small town only extremely popular songs that are known worldwide come on the radio so I was SUPER happy that they’ve reached the success they’ve had… wish them the best! Congratulations boys!

people better not complain about them performing at the KCA’S like they did for icarly
Yes, the Kids Choice Awards are aimed toward a younger fan base, but who cares?

1D can have young fans AND older fans.. the more the merrier!

Heck, the BLACK EYED PEAS, the PUSSY CAT DOLLS and SNOOP DOGG have all performed at the kca’s…

This is coming from an American Directioner. People need to stop complaining so much and just support them!
