INSIDE EDITION: “For those of you who don’t have girlfriends, is it hard to meet people?” Deborah Norville’s 14-year-old daughter, Mikaela, sits down for an exclusive interview with the popular British boy band, “One Direction.” The 5-member boy ba, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson – was discovered on U.K.’s version of the popular television singing competition, X-Factor and has become a big hit with teen girls all over the USA.
STYLES: “The reception that we’re getting is really flattering. To come to a country we’re not from and be welcomed in is really nice.” The teenage heartthrobs admit to INSIDE EDITION’s special correspondent that they are open to the possibility of dating a fan. MALIK: “It can be quite difficult.. we always get asked if we would ever date a fan. I think we probably would.”
STYLES: “Yeah.. you like someone when you like someone!” INSIDE EDITION: “Some bands come and go. How will you make sure that you stick around?” PAYNE: “For us, it’s important to make good music.” When asked who the boys of “One Direction” compare themselves to, they named a once popular boy band that also swept America.
STYLES: “I think when we first started out, a lot of people compared us to the Monkees just because we got into a lot of mischief.” INSIDE EDITION: “Out of all the places you’ve been in America so far, what’s your favorite and why?” PAYNE: “I’m really enjoying New York. It’s been very fun, a lot to do and a lot of places to see. I think we were really excited coming out here and obviously playing in Radio City.. it was an amazing venue.” TOMLINSON: “I really like Chicago as well, Chicago was cool!”
