26th! Well it’s not my b-day there yet, haha. I don’t know but probably on Friday night I’ll go out with my college friends :) Maybe some dinner, bowling and stuff. I honestly don’t feel excited at all, I’m like, yay b.day, Tumblr. hahaha

A LOT of people say “Getting my hair did” and “Getting my nails did” just like people say sup? or “gonna” or “wanna” and so on, none of those expressions are PROPER english and still I am sure that we all have used those words in the past. I for example am one of the people that say “did” not because I want to make myself look like I am some sort of intellectual but because it’s fun and it’s the internet/phone or just talking with friends. If I was writing an essay for school then I would use the correct words.

  • thecat61

Ok people relax. It’s not a big deal on how she say’s she’s getting her hair done.

They’re not in London though so stalking all of them would take like a day and a half, and I don’t even know their adresses, I don’t know how to stalk people :( I should ask Sarah for advice.

  • SubwayToVenus

Personally I had never heard of this horrible expression, lmao.

Chill out people seriously, she is kind of quoting a song by Missy Elliot stop taking everything so damn serious. She also said hurrr and the correct word is hair kind of obvious she was trying to be funny or cool, we all do it, maybe not with those exact words but you get the point.

No it’s not the same though. When people say “sup,” it’s just because it’s a shorter way of writing “what’s up” and that’s how we often pronounce it in speech. It’s a shortcut. Same with “wanna.” Did and done are two entirely different forms of the word and using them interchangeably is wrong. You wouldn’t say “have you did this yet,” would you? No because it’s wrong. A lot of people genuinely say “getting my hair did” thinking that what they’re saying is right, even though it isn’t. I’ve seen Miley say “getting my nails did” before too so I can assume that she’s not joking and she honestly thinks that’s how you say it -__-

Yeah probably. But Harry’s dad tweeted that he wasn’t coming home & he told fans not to bother to show up at the house….does that mean Harry went home with one of the other boys? Louis, perhaps? :/

I’m almost 100% sure that Miley knows it’s not correct english. She’s just using it because it’s a common phrase even though its not proper english.

That is one of the most annoying things to ever be said. It’s “getting my hair DONE, not getting my hair did. That sounds so ghetto, uneducated, and just ughhhh. Pet peeve, sorry. :/

^ calm down, it’s a silly expression.. Tell that to the millions of people who say it/

Awww Glenn’s dog is so cute!! :) So is Miley in these pictures. I love it when she actually does her hair lol.

I think Miley, and the millions of people who use that phrase, know that “Getting my hair did” is not proper english. Neither is someone typing “wuts up?” but a lot of people still use the phrase because they do. It’s funny. If you’re a grammar natzi, that’s cool, be one, but that is one of the most common phrases people use and it’s not by accident.

Like I hate when people say “pacific” instead of “specific” (doesn’t really happen that much anymore, but it’s happened before and it kills me). But that’s an ACCIDENT… or if people are using the word “their” “there” or “they’re” wrong, that’s an accident. You can get frustrated at common mistakes like that. But nobody thinks “getting my hair did” is proper english… it’s just fun to say lol. If you don’t find it fun, then don’t say it. I don’t know how else to break it to you, but most kids wouldn’t go so far as to think someone who used that phrase is “uneducated” or “ghetto.”

I disagree wholeheartedly. Using the wrong form of there/their/they’re is not an accident if you’re consistently making that mistake. It shows poor grammar & therefore a lack of education. Doesn’t mean that you’re necessarily dumb (I know a boy who just got accepted into Brown University & has terrible grammar), but just that you lack that knowledge and those skills. Similarly, sooo many people say “getting my hair did” fully thinking that what they’re saying is grammatically correct and acceptable. I don’t find it funny at all tbh

  • dearstephh

miley’s cute for getting her huurr did.

  • 123.ABC.:D

It is ridiculous how serious some you guys are getting just because she said “Getting my hurrrr did” like dang it is not that serious! lol!

Wonder why she has so many kimonos. Isn’t she a racist to Asians? Didn’t she and Justin make slant eyes and take a picture? Did you ever notice the closest she got to Asian countries after that was the Phillipines. No Japan. Aso!

Amazing how many table dances she does at Beechers, yet not one picture taken! Yet, we get nothing but pilates and dog pictures. Me is suspicious of this whole paps thing.

By accident, I meant that the person doesn’t know better or simply wasn’t paying attention. I’m saying that most people don’t purposely misuse there/they’re/their. However, MANY people purposefully say “Getting my hair did!” or “Wassup?!” or whatever phrases are popular at the time.

Maybe it’s just that you haven’t heard the popular songs or TV shows in which that phrase has been used as nothing more than a joke… Though you may, personally, not find it funny, in the context that it was originally used many people did and that is how it caught on. The same way people used to say “wassssuppppp!”

I can also tell you, POSITIVELY, Miley does not think hair is spelled hurr. That is also a reference to the way the phrase is supposed to be pronounced.

If you’d prefer for people to speak proper english all of the time, that’s great. But I’m just explaining to you, that not many people take this phrase THAT seriously. It’s pop culture. BUT if you’ve run into someone who genuinely thinks “getting my hair did” is proper english… (meaning they told you that it was proper english) then lmfaooo, that person is dumb. 9 times out of 10, however, that is not the case.

There is a BIG difference between being uneducated and using pop culture terminology.

    That is all.

  • Still Anonymous

THIS. Why would anyone say that?

People use the phrase because it’s been used a lot in pop culture. It’s been in a Missy Elliot Song, a Drake Song, in MAD TV skits, and probably fifty other different places at this point in life.

People use it for the same reason people used to use the word “wassssuppppp” long and drawn-out.

  • Still Anonymous

I can’t even… I started lmao by the end of this comment. What is your life?! If anything you said here was true, I wouldn’t be asking you that question.

Seriously though, go troll somewhere else. She’s not racist, and she never table danced at Beechers.

I’m starting to think OU posts as an anon every now and then lol.
