Selena Gomez SUED FOR $1 MILLION!

Selena Gomez is mentioned in a $1 million lawsuit because the songwriters are claiming that her 2010 hit ‘A Year Without Rain’ is a ripoff of their song from 2005, Buy a Dog, reports Court House News. T four songwriters are Tom Luce, Brian Kroll, Matt Blackett and Lawrence Riggs and they believe that Selena’s song is virtually the same song as theirs.

The Scene is also mentioned in the lawsuit. It is only the melodies in the chorus that are similar. The lawsuit said that Selena’s team stole the melodies for her song, which is an infringement on the songwriters’ copyright. They never gave them permission to copy or borrow the creative work and since she profited from the hit song, they want their share of the money. Selena’s rep hasn’t responded to the lawsuit.

You’re creepy, you’re such a badass! You’re also a pathetic loser/ hater! Watch out for karma to get back to you! If you are starting to lose your luck, maybe it’s really coming! That’s also when the curse is striking back! Do you remember “Carrie”??? It could happen in real life! FOR REAL! You should really watch your mouth!

Maybe it was stealing this song that stressed her out and made her eat. Poor Selena. A gluten free diet and dog walking will fix you right up and get you back to the beauty you once were.
    ——–
LOl! Only your idol will do such a thing, having an obsession with gluten diet free meal, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I’ll hear it from the news that she has a cardiac arrest because of being too thin! Your idol is popping everywhere walking with her dog all around town for publicity! Such a showy act! The way she is acting is no difference from what Paris Hilton did when she walked her dog around town to show off to people! Lol!

This guy didn’t do a copyright to the style, he also picked them up from others! Lol! That’s part of an art form just in case you don’t know!

Selenas’s team is stupid, the song sound similar but is not the first time that happened, the “Who says” video is an exact copy of a French band video, I don’t remember the name, but is a copy. Everything is the same, the words, the frames, the concept, EVERYTHING.

selena’s team stupid? wow how about calling hollywood records stupid or there writers. but of course selena is mention in the lawsuit. crazy haters start calling her stupid or a bitch. don’t worry people the disney/hollywood records lawyers will take care of that lawsuit.

  • Anonymous

Funny how even with all of this, even less people are gonna like them. Millions of songs sound the same, you didn’t see Ke$ha suing Katy Perry for Califonia Gurls.

  • Anonymous

It’s not Selena who is being sued, it is the songwriters. (Unless she wrote part of the song…)
GOod job with the inaccurate headlines again OceanUp! At least this time it wasn’t inaccurate quoting which is almost every post you make.

This is what happens when you have no talent in music selly, stick to acting :)

One dark night a crazy lunatic named Claudia who goes by gorgeousselena on oceanup was sitting home alone in her basement. She got an anonymous message on one on her e-mail : iwannascissorwithselenagomez @yahoo.com and the message said: “I C that ur home alone in your basement hehe” She freaked the freak out, but deleted the email and then went on oceanup.com and go on Miley Cyrus posts (caused by her abnormal unhealthy obsession disorder) to type her typical annoying pointless comments about Miley Cyrus. then went back to her email account and saw had another anonymous message. This new message said: “Stop pretending, I am looking at you right now baby you were analyzing Miley Cyrus photos.” She jerked and turned Round and Round her spinning chair till she heard a thump on the window. Claudia got scared, ran out of her basement and went into her mom’s room which had the lights off and hid in the closet. She sucked her thumb and prayed to her idol Selena Gomez wishing she’d stay alive to get the chance to meet Selena before she dies. She then went to the very back of her mom’s really long, dark closet and as she kept going towards the back she heard soft whispering behind her which sounded like singing and it was singing one of her favorite songs Hit The Lights by her idol!
The next morning Claudia’s mom found her in the closet, headless. She then noticed her neck had a signature that looked like it was signed Selena Gomez. DUN DUN DUN
Pass this around oceanup or Selena Gomez will behead you tonight!

alot of songs sound alike, like jason maraz’s song and that song that nick sang in camp rock 2, but he didn’t try to sue anyone.

  • Anonymous

Seriously, someone is out of money…… This probably isn’t even a lawsuit….. Ppl, the court has bigger problems you know…. :/

  • Robbie

Haha! DUMB BITCH! Maybe she wrote her own songs, she wouldn’t have this problem! WHO EVEN CARES? She can afford it! lol

SELENA IS SUCH A STUPID BITCH!

  • Robbie

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

but it got FAMOUS off Selena, not Leona, so she’s responsible! SELENA IS A STUPID WHORE!

  • Anonymous

i heard bad songs and bad singers but this guys suck. its obvious that they want to try to get some money.but selena didn’t wrote the song so disney/hollywood records will kick these idiots asses in court.

  • Anonymous

I dont see why they’re suing Selena because the song is Leona Lewis’s….

  • Anonymous

how embarassing it would be if she wins… they feel dumb, I HOPE SHE WINS

  • Anonymous

Whoever said that this is Leona Lewis’s song is right. Selena did a cover of the song. I searched for Selena’s song once and ended up downloading Leona’s instead because it’s the SAME THING, except that Selena can’t sing. Besides, JLo’s song “On the Floor” has the same melody as about four others. People need to get a life.

  • Destiny

I remember when it came out I was like ‘Wtf, Selena covering Leona freakin Lewis??? LOL!’

Anyway they shouldn’t be suing Selena, she didn’t write the song lmfao. Who they should be suing is those writers at Hollywood Records.

True. Because anyway any of her music it’s really from her lol. She’s just an actress singing thos e songs. She shouldn’t be the one sued.

What are you even doing in this post? If you don’t have anything nice to say get off this beeotch!

  • Anonymous

Your kidding right? its one of her bigger hits. Gets plenty of airplay in Los Angeles. That, Love you like a love song and hit the lights are huge. Love you like a love song is one of the most popular wedding songs these days.

  • EarthChild

“A Year Without Rain” and “hit” don’t really belong in the same sentence.

actually, Leona recorded the demo of the song and sold it to Selena. Just like people think her first big hit “Bleeding Love” is her original song, but, it is’t. That song was originally written and recorded by Jesse McCartney but Jesse sold the song off to her
    ——–
Jesse McCartney didn’t give Leona Lewis the song, he only lent it to her. He did his own recording after Leona Lewis, but never made it as big as her! He is okay with that since people know that he wrote the song! The song is actually more suitable for woman to sing anyways! It technically helped her to become popular!

How does it sound the fucking same? And how can she be sued?! It’s a joke! It’s like listen to the begining of California King Bed by Rihanna, it sounds SO like Jonas Brothers’ Turn Right but nobody’s complaining or fucking suing anyone! STOP TRYING TO FUCK WITH PEOPLE’S CARREERS, THIS CAME OUT AGES AGO SO WHY YOU STRESSING ABOUT IT NOW DUMBASSES

  • BrokenArrow

it took like a year to figured out that the song was similar? looool

  • Anonymous

could you all please stop saying “she shouldnt be sued”? hell, she’s not being sued! learn to read pleeeease.

  • Anonymous

Two completely different songs! Try playing Selena’s A year without rain accapella with the karaoke for Buy a dog or whatever the other song’s called. The words don’t match with the instrumental which means that even if the Scene used similar chords they didn’t ”Steal” the music!

  • Anonymous

it does sound similar, but c’mon, i’ve heard a hundred songs that sound like that. you can’t expect ppl 2 b a 100% original.plz..

  • Pones

That’s right, the chorus sounds similar but no big deal. Chill guys.

  • Anonymous

i’d really like to know what kind of ppl would choose that for their wedding.. it’s not like 13 year olds marry that often. teen dance songs just dont belong to a wedding. not doubting what you’re saying, i heard of it before.

  • Anonymous

What i dont understand, How long has “A Year Without Rain” been out? Like two or three years now, and they just figured out now that they sound the same? It sounds like LUCE(whoever the heck they are) are looking for a pay day, since nobody has even heard of them!!

  • Anonymous

like two chords are similar…. someone is just tring to take advantage..like always

this is dumb. alot of songs sound alike. get over it guys. it most likely is just a coinicidence. not too mention selena probably has great lawyers so if this lawsuit does go through odds are she will only have to give up way less than that

  • Destiny

This is why singers should write- atleast partially- their own songs

  • SoRawSUgAr

It’s funny because…the chorus does sound the same *bursts out laughing*. You guys can be butt-hurt but…I think this is hilarious…

  • askashley

this is just like the band that wrote the song “Scotty Doesn’t Know” that tried to sue Miley saying she STOLE the melody of the song for the Song Rock star. And then you listen to the song, and only ONE chord of a whole 3 min song sounds the same. This is obviously a band who needs some cheap way of being noticed .

  • Beagsbunny

First of all the song barely has a comparison in it to be considered ‘ripping them off’-how many more song writers should have sued others for a few cords that appeared in another song

Second to idiots pointing out the misleading title of the article-welcome to media targeting 101 (duh it got you to read the article didn’t it)

Last is to all the morons out there giving out about Selenas voice or anything else-are u all just stupidly jealous. Personally I love Selenas voice in songs and have listened other cover versions of some songs more than the originals-she obviously has a fan base-if ur not one, shut up. Im sick of all critical reviews from uneducated imbeciles about celebrities who actually do work to attain their celebrity status and gain fans of their voice, acting and/or looks because of it. Let them live their lives-if u don’t enjoy their work, try spending ur time commenting on stories on celebs you do like-not just nice celebs who nobody said were perfect, its just the way the media portrays them.i know it’s cliche but if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all-the world doesn’t need anymore assholes taking up space

They are not suing Selena, she is named as “Selena Gomez and The Scene” and just that, named, because the are the interpreters of the song, they are suing the songwriters.

  • Anonymous

I does sound totally alike. And to sue someone you’ve got to have all the proofs and a good lawyer, it takes time to do it, that’s why they couldn’t sue them straightaway.

    I hope LUCE win.
