Simon Cowell has given One Direction £10 million 7 months after the release of their debut single What Makes You Beautiful, reports The People. They will earn £2 million each: ‘Simon Cowell wants them to know what they deserve. They have been a massive success, what they have achieved is phenomenal. They have made him an absolute fortune and he is incredibly proud.’
Simon thinks that 1D are the hardest working people in pop at the moment. They had a sell-out tour in the UK before heading to the US, where they became the most successful UK band ever when they conquered the Billboard 200 with album Up All Night: ‘He always saw potential in them and now it’s paying off. Girls across the globe simply love them.’
Liam: ‘We were all asked the other day where we would want to live in the world and we all said the UK. There are great places out there but you can’t pick anywhere but home. Obviously we miss home a lot and we have been away now for many weeks but we will be back. Our fans there are the best. Without them we would not be enjoying the success we are. They started all this for us and we won’t forget that.
We have been in America and Australia but there’s nothing like being home with your friends. So we are glad that we will be back in the UK very soon. We don’t want our UK fans to think we have deserted them. We are only away because you have got to try to achieve your dreams a little bit.’
Bieby talked about One Direction: ‘They are great guys, and I am always looking to work with people who have talent and I like. I think there could potentially be a great chemistry between us. We were both in the same recording studio a couple of weeks back, not doing stuff together, it was just coincidence. But maybe next time we can record together.’
Zayn Malik is embarrassed seeing pictures of himself in magazines: ‘I saw one where I must have jumped off a step and my whole face had dropped. It didn’t even look like me. I had to look at it six or seven times to see if it really was me. I was wondering if they’d done something to the picture. It was horrible.
I hated it! I think I’ve changed, but in a good way. Before The X Factor I wasn’t as confident. I mean, I wouldn’t have been able to do this interview and I wouldn’t have been able to speak to you properly because I’d just be really shy. But now I find it really easy to speak to people.’
