Taylor Swift’s new single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Togethe, shot to the top of the iTunes chart in record time, beating the record set by Lady Gaga’s Born This Way by taking the top spot in a reported 50 minutes. Taylor also announced details of her fourth album, Red, which will be released on October 22.
‘All the different emotions that are written about on this album are all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I’ve experienced in the last two years. All those emotions, spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that, in my mind, all those emotions are red. You know, there’s nothing in between. There’s nothing beige about any of those feelings.’
While recording with songwriters Max Martin and Shellback, she said, ‘This guy walks in who is a friend of my ex’s and starts talking about how he’s heard we’re going to get back together. And that was not the case.. So I start telling them the story: break up, get back together, break up, get back together, just, ugh, the worst! And I picked up the guitar and Max said, ‘This is what we’re writing.”
Who do YOU think the song is about?
UPDATE: The co-founder of CROCS said that he is dating Taylor Swift!
No, we are never ever, ever getting back together
We are never ever, ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends, talk to my friends, talk to me
But we are never ever, ever, ever getting back together..
So he calls me up and he’s like
‘I still love you’ and I’m like, I’m just..
This is exhausting, you know like
We’re never getting back together
