I’m glad someone asked her the religion question because i don’t understand Religion vs. Spiritual. Thats like saying religion is a bad thing. And its not! I think people are SO caught up with Heaven vs. Hell good vs. Evil that no one wants to have a relationship with God. Then they lean to their own understanding and that just messes people up because what do you know? You’re going through the same things the people in the Bible went through but because you’re not “religious” you’d never know. Its just irritating when people compare the two because spirituality comes with religion. No ones saying you have to be the next Pope, priest pastor or preacher. But to aknowledge the one with all answers and all good things, is a good thing! They say its a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the Lord (if you’re a sinner/horrible person) but its worse to deny that he doesn’t exsist or ignore him & aknowledge him as little as possible. Spirituality and religion go hand in hand. You can’t be spiritual if you have no religious background or knowledge. At least she has faith though, i guess. Because that isn’t something that can be taught really. You can know to have it, but to have it & keep it is a different story. Religion is a journey. No one is perfect. I know she knows she wouldn’t be ANYWHERE without God, so thats good. But i’m praying for her & others who are mislead about religion.

I don’t think she is saying that she isn’t “religious.” I’m religious (Christian) as well but I understand what she means by being spiritual. When you read the bible there are so many things that you question. Sometimes it just comes down to the fact that I follow all of the morals of my religion and everyday I try to spread love to others. I have my own personal relationship with my God, but I don’t think my religion is the end all be all. For example, whether you’re muslim, Jewish, buddist, idek… I respect that that is your religion & your beliefs. Additionally, I support the LGBT community and I don’t think getting tatoo’s or being bald means your going to hell. Nor do I think abstinence until marriage is always realistic in the context of today. I read the bible contextually, taking into consideration the fact that it was written hundreds of years after the stories in it took place, and over a thousand years ago at that. I still have a relationship with God, and therefor consider myself religious, but I don’t blindly believe everything my church tells me either. In that sense, I feel very spiritual. I feel like Demi is saying the same thing.
