Zayn Malik Accused Of Being A Terrorist

Zayn Malik revealed to FABULOUS how racist, anti-Muslim remarks that he and his family were terrorist infuriated him: ‘You can say whatever you want about me, I’m not really bothered. But when it starts to upset people I care about or I hear about it from my mum, then that’s a problem. Nasty things [were said] like I’m a terrorist, and this and that. How can you justify that? How can you call me that and get away with it?

My little cousin put up a family picture at Eid because she got a photo with Perrie and she was so happy about it. But then everybody just gave it to me double barrel. We live in 2012 and I thought we’d moved forward. If that was said to me on the street or if someone said it to me to my face or whatever then something could be done about it.’

It’s not just Muslims, Sikhs were also mistaken for Muslims and got hate crimes after 9/11. It’s truly pathetic. Blame America and scociety.

    aww…Zayn…
I honestly get what he is going through
He did a right thing that he talked about it so that people think more about it
if you ignore haters and comments like this all the time people may get used to it and think its fine to say those things but to explain how bad that is here and there
    its a right choice :)
And Im not even a fan ;) but I support what he said

  • Trae

I know how that feels, I used to be called a terrorist cuz my family from El Salvador at school, Im not a big 1D fan, tho I enjoy their music but to have it said to you and your family is horrible, I always ignored it and I am kind of like Zayn abit seperate and quiet doing my own thing. Wish you the very best 1D

i feel for him but muslims isnt the only group discriminated against. their is still racism between whites/black jews/germans etc. since hes famous of course he is going to get accused alot and also because their are trolls on the internet who say these things but he has to take it with a grain of salt and worry more about the fans who love him then the idiots

I know exactly how he feels. I’m Indian and people always think I’m a Muslim. (I have nothing against Muslims). But I hear those comments all the time so I know how he feels. He’s not even Muslim. He’s actually from Pakistan so people automatically assume that. Ignorance -__-

People are stupid enough to believe what they hear and see on TV [as well as what they read in headlines]. Muslims have been portrayed especially inaccurately — they are made out to be violent freaks of nature. In reality, the religion itself is not so different from Christianity or Islam; they’re told to pray often, DON’T kill, DON’T lie and cheat, etc.

    Christianity or Judaism*

    He actually IS Muslim.

Being Muslim, means a follower of Islam – religion
Pakistani is someone from Pakistan – nationality

It is possible to be both.

I said its rude to say it to zayn bc we can clearly rell he isnt a terrorist. I kno its mean to say to anyone

  • TheStraightShooter

They are way too responsive to hate. I get it, it is hard to ignore but jeez.. I feel like I never hear other teen celebrities complaining about their haters as much as these guys do. They are hot and semi talented they should just laugh all the way to the bank. Nothing gets to a hater more than ignoring them.

  • Dia

True but other celebs are not harassed for their religion or what they believe in. An he said himself he doesn’t mind if it’s targeted at him but it’s also targeted at his family. I’m sure everyone would respond the same.

It’s so disgusting that there are such ignorant, narrow-minded twats in the world.

unfortunately you are right the whole racial profiling since 9/11 won’t stop. people are so aftraid of things that they don’t know and 9/11 put the fear of god in everyone because of all of those lives lost due to a group of people who’s beliefs he somewhat follows – he’s not an extremist obviously.

We live in a world of hate and fear from one another it’s sad

  • kristin6410

It is sad a couple of ppl made all muslims look bad its a shame

It’s not only rude to say it to Zayn. it’s rude to say it to any muslim. we absolutely don’t believe in killing people. There are about 2 billion muslims out there, how is it okay to judge this many people by what a few people had done. It’s not fair.
