Ummm this is an American website so obviously American terminology will be used. durrrr.

i know this is an american site, but a lot of people from all over see it, and the majority of popular languages use a term similar to “football”, whereas “soccer” is completely different.
If I were to take the european view of americans it would be that they are ignorant – in this case, ignorant of other cultures, besides the americas. I don’t believe that, but it’s a popular view over here.

It is called FOOTBALL. It’s a ball you kick with your feet, hence the term, FOOTBALL. Plus they are ENGLISH, playing a FOOTBALL game in ENGLAND, and therefore the correct terminology should be used – not this american “soccer” rubbish. It wouldn’t be as bad if it were an American band, or if the charity game was being played in the US. But it isn’t – it’s as english as could be. Use the right vocabulary please.
