Girl Sex Change To Look Like Harry Styles

sexchange

Catrina Best, 20, who has been diagnosed as transgender, has modeled her hair and spent thousands on clothing so she can look just like Harry Styles. She told Closer: ‘Dressing as Harry made me feel confident, so I copied his hair too. I spend 30 minutes every day perfecting the ‘Harry look.’ He is ‘perfect boy’ and having him as a role model has made it easier with my struggle.

The law student, who was born in Northern Ireland, said she has felt different since the age of five when she hated looking at all feminine by having long hair or wearing dresses. When she was 11 she moved to Lisbon, Portugal, with her parents and found she continued to struggle with her identity as a teenager.

She often felt depressed and confused because she didn’t fancy boys and was bullied because she made herself look different by binding her breasts and having short hair. ‘I later realised I wanted to be with girls, but as the male in a straight relationship. It was a huge relief to finally be diagnosed as transgender earlier this year.’

She is now saving up to have an operation and plans to take hormones which will give her facial hair and deepen her voice. She’s also learning to play the guitar: ‘People say my bone structure, eyes and lips are almost identical to Harry’s, and I’ve been asked for autographs. I haven’t started dating yet, but girls flirt with me and I even get chatted up by older women, like Harry does!’

You people (who are blaming OceanUp for saying diagnosed) are genuinely RETARDED. Can you not read?

SHE said that herself. Calm the flip down. And by the way, it IS considered a medical disorder that is not “remedied” until the person has gone through the complete transgender process, both mentally and physically.

  • Anonymous

this is so ignorant. my brother is transgendered. he was born a she. he takes hormones, has a deep voice, and looks completely like a regular boy. want to know why? because he IS a regular boy. he wasnt born as one, and that is not a mental illness. you have no idea what thats like. the only kind of “help” transgender people need is the right friends and family to support them becoming who they really are.

  • Meh

Because you are NOT a boy unless you are born a boy. Just be getting a penis you are not changing your DNA and body make up. It is wrong to thing a surgery and drugs makes you a legit boy when in reality if any thing you would now be a hermaphrodite NOT a boy.

I hope you learned from your brother and you aren’t ignorant about other things that you really shouldn’t be.

  • GLiTTERSWAG

Well i guess that’s what (s)he wants so umm.. i don’t really care. ^-^ But as long as you’re happy with yourself, it’s ok?

    Aww good for him.

People are so judgmental here. You guys don’t realize how hard it is to keep a positive mind set because how how fucked up society is now a days. Judging someone because of their struggles is pretty fucking low. The fact that HE looks like Harry Styles and someone else doesn’t makes him look better. If that’s what he wants let him. It’s HIS life and you shouldn’t judge. I’m proud of him for going beyond to make himself perfect.

That’s a good point but at the same time people may feel like they were born into the wrong gender. It’s not really a self-hatred thing (though I can see your point). They feel like they are boy, but born girl, and vice versa.
Also, there are people who are born with both male and female genitalia, and usually (because of society) parents will decide to change their child into one gender through surgery, but only when the child is grown do they realize that they feel more like the gender they are not. (Confusing?) Therefore, they will go through surgery again.

..not trying to judge, but she doesnt even really look like him at all..maybe a few similarities, but hey I have green eyes and brown curly hair, you don’t see me trying to morph into Harry lol. Sexuality and who you love shouldn’t matter at all. But what matters is who will truly love youu. Like she really wants to have this “change” only so girls can like her apperance and not her heart?? It sounds cheesy I know, but she should stay herself & embrace that..That’s what Harry does and if u truly wanted to be like him..you should too. x

being a transgender is something i can never understand or support. it is a mental illness and should be treated as such. its one thing to be gay, thats understandable. but to have self-hatred to the extreme that youd want surgery to change yourself? i dont see why people support or condone this at all!

you can be who you want, dress/act/love whoever you want without needing surgery. to me this is the same as girls who go overboard getting fake boobs, lip, nose jobs, etc. its insane. all this political correctness b.s. has prevented people from actually thinking clearly, cause theyre so scared of offending someone. people need to love themselves as they are born. thats my opinion you may disagree but thats how i see it.

I agree, I fully completely support gay rights and I don’t consider it something out of the normal in the slightest, but I do consider being transgered a both mental and hormonal issue that should be treated as such as well.

I personally think that title is misjudging this girl. It´s like she/ he changed to be just like Harry. But that´s not it. He just helped her to find who she was.

  • Meh

I couldn’t say it better myself. Being a gender and feeling the other other is mental disorder for some reason people think that is like mocking them or something and it is not. Being transgender is also a iffy thing. By saying she was diagnosed is a way of saying that she is not doing this just for attention like most people who claim to be trans.

    Exactly!

If he is taking drugs then how is he a regular boy? Most boys do not take those to BE a boy. I am not saying it is wrong or anything but stop being ignorant. YOU are the type of person that makes it hard for them to function in society. If you are a girl who is a boy you can not claim to be regular it is just insulting to regular boys. No judging on your brother but you are just a cruel person.

Umm actually you need to ask a doctor cos babes they just don’t feel attracted to girls/boys only their whole body suffers they have parts that shouldn’t be in a female body so doing a surgery to become a man instead of being half male and half female is a somethign we should all support not compare to fake boobs or nose jobs SMH

You need to separate sex and gender, sex is your biological make up and gender is your mental identification.

You can know you are a girl or boy without having to check your genitalia, simply because that is how the chemicals and hormones work in your head.

Being TransGENDER means that your gender identity does not align with your biological make up.

Transitioning does not make you a hermaphrodite because you only have one biological make up, transitioning replaces your hormones (oestrogen or testosterone) and some trans people chose to have surgeries so that they can physically look the way that they identify on the gender spectrum.

To be a boy, you don’t have to be born a boy you simply have to identify as male.

  • Lucas

Thank you for that comment, I too am transgender and after reading these comments and this article it really is quite hard to hear what people think of people like me and your brother.

It is hard enough to be trans, but when you hear the things that people have to say it is just devistating.

    “diagnosed” hahaha OceanUp you beauty!

claro que si bonita, date unos golpecitos en el hombro, ya pasó ;)

how is it insulting to regular boys? it’s only insulting to ignorant boys who see themselves as better boys just because they got their thingy earlier.

  • Anonymous

    ———
this is 100% understandable. i have met hermaphrodite people whose parents made the decision for them and grew up later to change their gender. thats a different issue if you are born with both parts. but people who are born a regular girl/boy with functioning parts and want to change make no sense to me.

what if i told you that i feel like i dont need a leg. i was born with two normal legs but i “Feel” like my i should amputate my leg. it would make me feel better to have one leg. if i said, this you would think i was insane and need mental help. you wouldn’t encourage me to get unnecessary surgery to cut off perfectly fine limbs.

the thing is that is a real mental illness called BIID. to me this is the same as transgender people. when someone with BIID says they want to chop off a limb for no other reason then they “feel” like they shouldn’t have an arm they are labeled as mentally ill and given the appropriate help. most doctors will not perform these surgeries. however when unecessary and extreme surgery relates to sexuality issues, somehow its ok? it makes no sense

Not going to judge “him” (her), but it’s a bit weird to see them go that far as to look exactly alike like Harry Styles himself, but if it makes them feel more comfortable, then go ahead.

It is a sickness, it is called Gender Identity Disorder. I would suggest you look it up before you make incredibly rude statements like that.

    Also, He*

  • Anonymous

I think it’s fine that she wants to do this. Born in the wrong body, and yes I agree with alysha it shouldn’t be called “diagnosed”

i actually feel really bad for her. it must be hard to deal with her disease, but cutting your hair and spend THOUSANDS on clothing to look like a celebrity is stupid. just be yourself ok

    wow fuck you oceanup
    diagnosed?

  • lala

chill people. Catrina himself/herself said “diagnosed” thats why oceanup said it.

  • Meh

I feel bad for her that she feels like a boy and is a girl but this is creepy not really worth being on this site.

  • Anonymous

Harry Styles out of all people. Are you kidding me?

  • Lucas

Ok, let me make this clear.
The author of this article is being incredibly rude by using female pronouns, this is a male transgender person so you should be reffering to them as He or HIM.
Yes, you can be diagnosed as transgender, it is called GID or Gender Identity Disorder and it is 100% legit.
Yes, it may be extreme to want to look identicle to Harry Styles, but you need to make that seperate from his transition.
Many transgender people take hormones and have surguries, that is not to just look like Harry Styles it is so that he can move past the extreme body dysphoria that he has experienced his whole life.

All this article has managed to do is alienate this boy and transgender people.

This needs to be edited with correct pronouns and with respect to this boy who is trying to transition and be happy with this body he was born in.

If anyone is willing to argue with me, it is a losing battle.

  • Anonymous

You don’t “diagnose” someone that’s transgender. It’s not an illness or a disease. A doctor can’t determine with some special magical tool whether someone is transgender.

  • Anonymous

that is a very bold statement, you in fact CAN diagnose someone who is transgender. Only a trained Gender Thereapist can professionally diagnose someone with Gender Identity Disorder.

Transgender people aren’t any less normal than you and I. They aren’t a ‘special magical tool’

  • Anonymous

Didn’t know you could be ‘diagnosed’ as transgendered.

  • Anonymous

what if i told you that i feel like i dont need a leg. i was born with two normal legs but i “Feel” like my i should amputate my leg. it would make me feel better to have one leg. if i said, this you would think i was insane and need mental help. you wouldn’t encourage me to get unnecessary surgery to cut off perfectly fine limbs.
    ========================
you are over reaching. for one thing a gender is a state of mind and not just a physical part. it’s difficult to explain. they really do feel like they are born in the wrong body. I do not fully understand being transgendered and I don’t think I ever will but I believe them when they say they are. think about it why would you say that you are the gender that you are? because of a specific physical part? I know I wouldn’t. it’s the same for transgendered
also a leg is important to function, having a specific sexual part is not.

and I know nobody is gonna read this but I thought I’d try
