Fifth Harmony Is The New One Direction?

fifth-harmony

Fifth Harmony was mentored by Simon Cowell for X-Factor like One Direction. Ally told MTV: ‘We’re so grateful to be here. We were a newly formed group on the show. For us to have made it to the top three, it’s such a blessing. We’re in good spirits.’ Camilla: ‘We didn’t even expect to make it to the finals. The fact that we’re here is such a blessing and we’re so happy.’

Fifth Harmony have signed a deal with Syco/ Sony just like One Direction. Thiis season’s ratings declined, judge LA Reid is leaving and Britney Spears might be fired. One Direction is arguably most successful loser from any talent show. The last time an all-female group topped the Billboard albums charts was with Danity Kane in 2008. Do YOU think Fifth Harmony will succeed or fail?

I dont know why fifth harmony will be famous, their songs will be a joke!Like some singers like taylor swift, adele, lana del rey, i dont know why every1 likes lana, she sucks and worshi

    and worships the devil.

Hopefully they succeed. There needs to be more girl groups.

  • Ijustneedyounow

no. for one simle reason: one directions fanbase consists of teen girls that are in love with them… guess there are not that many lesbian teens out there to make these girls as big *shrugs*

Although very similar to 1D in terms of their run on Xfactor (5 girls put together by Simon winning 3rd), they’re not gonna be “the next one direction”. They ARE AMAZING singers (some definitely more than others), but like it was said before some of them are really young and have a lot of growing up to do. I’m wondering how the band will work with one girl already being almost 20. So they might get some success, but they might not being able to win everyone over. They might only be able to majorly target fans their age and younger. This will depend on the image they portray which I don’t know how it’ll be done because I’m sure some of the older girls will eventually get tired of the Disney dominated J14, Bop, tiger beat thing. They don’t have what it takes to be the next big girl band because they aren’t the next big girl band. Succeeding as a girl band is really tricky, and see in my opinion I don’t think Fifth Harmony is really what people wanna see. So let’s see how long their X factor fame will last because they’ll probably be around for at least a little while

AnneLies please, give me a little break. You don’t have to post it on EVERY post EVERYDAY. You have a nice voice though.

    YES!

  • Anonymous

    succeed.

  • Anonymous

I personally don’t think so. They might be the next Girlicious (but obviously less sexy, but success-wise) if anyone even remembers who they are.. basically a quick come and go band.

also I don’t think the members mesh well with one another at all..

  • Anonymous

they’ll work because each of them had their own fanbases from the start and they combined. They are relatable. Camila had a a 1D tumblr and twitter and was, and still is, a complete fangirl. They are know how to be dorky and they aren’t cocky. Plus they are young enough to have time to grow.

  • Anonymous

They are very talented girls but there just not as likable as one direction. Plus, we already have little mix who is probably going to be a huge success in America. There’s just nothing super unique about 5th harmony.

  • Anonymous

    Not unless they’re trannies.

  • xAskTaylorx

    That bow bothers me. =$

  • Wendell Donizeti

I think that they are even BETTER than 1d. They just have to grow up and get more experience on this bussiness.

  • Anonymous

Yeah THEY ARE YEAH THEY ARE!!

  • Anonymous

No. Their style sucks. 1D is kinda classy at least, while these girls look super lame with the bows and the coton candy dresses. But we’ll see, maybe they’ll manage to force them onto the public.

  • BrokenArrow

No, but i like Camila! She’s so cute

  • Anonymous

    they will fail :/

  • xxxsingxxx

I don’t think they will be successful. As a 17 year old girl I would assume that I am their target audience and I don’t like them at all. They have no appeal at all. They are all pretty good singers on their own, (Dinah is amazing) but they just don’t work as a group and they barely ever sing harmony. They just seem like a bunch of solo artists singing together. And I hate the way they dress too. They don’t have an “image”. And I can’t picture what kind of songs they would release. Nothing works for me.Plus girl groups rarely succeed.

  • EarthChild

They won’t be as big as 1D, but I really hope they succeed. I saw Camila audition, and my friend saw Lauren audition the day before. So it would be really neat if they were somewhat successful.

  • Anonymous

I hope they will!! Im BORED … Are you ?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJo2L4mCpcY watch this XD

  • Anonymous

i would be extremely surprised if they went anywhere.

FAIL. NO ONE can be ” the new One Direction”. One Direction is one direction and fifth harmony is fifth harmony. My option is they’re going to fail because personally I don’t think people are very much into girl bands. Plus, AGAIN MY OPINION… I don’t even think they very good singers.

Fifth Harmony and One Direction. Both five-member groups that were put together by Simon Cowell. They are both manufactured and both lame. I personally don’t see why there can’t be girl groups anymore, but Fifth Harmony is not a gil group that will last.

    LIttle mix is better

  • Ray Hernandez

I cannot wait for them to have their first album! huge fan!

  • Anonymous

I think they’re awesome, they need to make a song like “anything could happen” because that performance basically made them

  • Anonymous

girl groups can’t ever be as successful as boybands again. Boybands are fueled and are made popular by girls under 15years old. You will never see a guy swooning at the sight of a girl group. With that said, I am myself a girl. It’s always harder for females in everything

  • Anonymous

normani, camila, and lauren are all gorgeous and dinah has a powerhouse voice, but then there’s ally who just doesn’t really fit in with the rest of them and tbh isn’t very likable at all. if they replaced her with someone better they may have a chance of being taken seriously

  • Anonymous

Camila is the new harry? hahaa

  • Anonymous

I prefer little mix, but I think once they develop their voices a little more they could be good. Does anyone know how old they all are?

  • kary_redfern

American bands could learn from K-pop bands!!!
SNSD and the Wonder Girl are quite the act!!!

  • Anonymous

2 of the girls are 15, two are 16, and on of then is 19

  • Nisreen1D

They will never be one direction I’m sorry. Just because they are a group it doesn’t mean they are the next one direction. I’m not being mean but please stop saying ur going going to be the next one direction. Everyone is different from each other so. I am a big fan of one direction. Also just because one direction was in xfactor and that we’re in the third. They can be like Selena Gomez famous but not that famous. That’s my story <3 love 1D

right? it just looks so awk. it’s too big.

Come on OU, NOT AT ALL, we all know that as far as being “the new 1D” with girl bands, Little Mix is runner up.

  • Anonymous

These girls do have talent and they are very sweet but unfortunately I don’t see them becoming the huge success One Direction is, or comparing them to other female groups like Spice Girls/Destiny’s Child either. Unfortunately it’s easier being male in the music industry because girls find them appealing and will listen to their music because they’re hot and desirable, because they can sing too. Girls chase after them. It’s cool to have a female group that girls can look up to, but it’s rare for them to stay a success like male groups. They will probably have a few great songs that are hits, but i doubt a whole album would be good or something people would buy. And the merchandise would be hard to sell too. Girls want bed spreads with hot guys on them, not really cute 15 year old girls, unless you’re Hannah Montana or something… but that’s about it. Sorry Fifth Harmony.

They might not be as big as 1D but they will still do pretty well. You guys are underestimating them. They’re not as bad as you are making them out to be. The keybword is : Simon! he will work with them and get other people to mould them into big stars. It all depends on the fan base. They did come 3rd, so have had alot of screen time on X Factor. I’m telling you they won’t fail

  • Anonymous

I wish them success, I think they are very talented girls. I actually saw Lauren audition in July and thought she was amazing. This group works together well, can’t wait to see what becomes of them.

  • Anonymous

Tbh I kinda only like Dinah and Camilla from 5H.., idk, I think The Saturdays are going to be the big girl band because they’re older, hotter, British, and they’re going to have a show on E! somewhere in January. But hey, you never know!

  • Anonymous

The Saturdays will probably do very well, but they’ll cater for the older generation, and 5H will cater for the younger generation. So i think they’ll both do prity well, if they work hard.My only question is how long will 5H be big. I hope Simon can help them have a long term success, but like i said they just have to keep that fan base, and hope they continue to get the support

  • John

Fifth Harmony is awesome! I knew they wouldn’t win The X-Factor, but I knew they would be signed by a major record label when the show ended. Congrats to the girls! They’re very talented and very deserving of their record deal. I’m excited for them. :)

  • Carter

They’re going to be the NEXT Fifth Harmony– not One Direction. I expect them to have several hits

  • Anonymous

    yup

Harry already tweeted them he knows simon will push them to be the next big thing

    FAIL

honestly, i was not a fan of fifth harmony or emblem 3. they are adorable girls, but note the key word girls. 4/5 of them are 15, so they still have a lot of growing up to do with their voices. and i know that 1D were only a few years older, but they also have the advantage of being a guy. it is easier for guys to make it in the music business than it is for girls based on their looks. (NOT SAYING THAT 1D IS ONLY FAMOUS BECAUSE THEY ARE HOT, I AM A HUGE 1D FAN!) LA Reid said it right during the xfactor, they only sang in harmony once. are they talented, yes, but honestly they do not have what it takes to be the next Spice Girls or Destinys Child .

  • Anonymous

I’m hoping they succeed. And I’m hoping xfactor doesn’t get canceled

  • Anonymous

x factor isnt being cancelled, they already announced the audition dates for season 3.

  • Anonymous

    they aren’t hot enough

  • PlasticLovato

honestly i don’t think they will be as big as 1D , i feel like they will only have a one hit.

    I totally agree!!!
