UGH, she is isn't even correct. Being on a Gluten Free Diet makes most people GAIN weight, plus it is not healthy for most people who are not allergic to Gluten.. It will make then feel worse not better! As far as Gluten being bad for you, people who aren't allergic to it, still need it. I am more annoyed by how misinformed she is.

Actually, you're the one who kind of sounds misinformed. There is both pros and cons to those who aren't allergic to it who decide to have a gluten free diet. Gluten is only a wheat protein, you can find protein elsewhere. The bad thing is, when people start to cut breads and stuff, they cut out carbs, but you can in fact find good carbs from other foods. It begins to include less processed foods into your diet. In fact, some foods that come from grain don't have gluten at all, so you aren't eliminating the whole grains food group. There's rice, quinoa, etc. that all are gluten free grains and are actually higher quality than the ones found in most wheats/grain products that DO include gluten. Gluten actually is not that good for anyone's intestine. You gain weight if your intake increases in fat and sugar content, which happens to a good amount of people because they aren't aware of what to look for or aren't paying attention to nutrients labels. If you are a person who is aware of what your body needs as far as nutrients go, you would more than likely be fine. So it isn't really fair to say that it is bad for people who aren't allergic. In my opinion, gluten is not a necessary part to a diet at all, as long as you aren't replacing it with foods that are bad for you.
