Selena Gomez Spring Break Controversy?
Selena Gomez's sexy Spring Breakers role might cause a controversy, reports ET. Gomez addressed the potential controversy during ET's set visit. When asked if she thought the film will be controversial, Gomez replied, "Yes. Because it's real. What I love about Harmony [Korine] (director) is [that] he doesn't really allow anybody to fabricate his movies.. He's not afraid to show people what really happens.. He's not afraid to scare people.. It'll definitely be controversial, I think, but I'm ready for it.'
Selena already warned her young fans not to watch the film and has generally received support from her fans after undertaking the role. 'Eventually I have to do things that are for me and this something that is really, really exciting for me.'
Vanessa Hudgens also commented on the film's potential controversy: 'It's definitely not a movie for everybody but you just gotta make the best movie that you can make and do it for yourself.' Ashley Benson: 'I think people are going to be shocked when they see this film. I think it's going to be a colt classic.. It's so beautiful. The story's amazing.'
Spring Breakers is centered upon four college girls who end up in jail after stealing money to fund their spring break vacation. The film's release date has yet to be scheduled.

I think you can tell from the shots on set that the movie is going to be controversial. I hope no one is stupid enough to take their child to this movie and then complain afterwards that it was controversial, but I've learned that I shouldn't have that much faith in the human race. -_-

When you start to look at Selena, Miley, and Demi as just singers and actresses life becomes so much easier. Every role and project is different and you can pick and choose which ones you enjoy. No one project should make you dislike them as a person. I like Selena's acting & Miley's & Demi's music. I support Miley's acting as well, but I don't necessarily think it's academy award winning. And I sure as hell don't think Selena can sing live, but you can catch me jamming to LYLALS when it comes on the radio. Idk. Life just seems so much easier this way. Random Rant...

I doubt this movie will ever be considered "a cult classic." Cult classic films are defined by their unpredictability of success. They become classics over time, because of the large fan base required after the release. With this movie, it seems as though the actresses were chosen because of their notability. At least Vanessa, Selena and Ashley. Cult films are usually Low-key with their debut, never mainstream. The main characters, with their prominent fan-bases, will make it a mainstream film. Certified.
Oh my god stop bitching about the movie. It's not about the actresses, it's about Harmony, but sure ya'll haven't watched any of his movies. He's brilliant, he's such a fucking great director. I think this is going to be great, he never fails to surprise me.

"Realistic" is the word that bothers me. It's like saying Bambi is a realistic movie about a deer losing his mom.

She did say that she has older fans her age and she thinks they will like the movie.

yeah, if you're trying to make something a cult film, it'll probably end up not being one. You never know what film the audience is going to take hold of and you never know when. Many cult films are ones that were lambasted by critics, failed at the box office but later suddenly found an audience for it. I mean one of my favorite cult film is the Labyrinth and that didn't become a cult flick till Jim Henson died.
