She changed it because people kept pronouncing it wrong like 'stab and stub' and her family and friends already knew her as Chelsea Kane, as her original name was Chelsea Kane Staub, so she just legally switched it.

ah okay... i think staub is kinda hard to pronounce for americans it's german and it means dust as far as i know^^
