im actually really impressed by this, she's tuned into a more mature role really well. she makes her voice sound pained and real. people can say whatever they like about not liking selena, but it's hard to refute the fact that she is a damn good actress.

give her credit where credit is due people!

Can't judge from a 30 sec clip and i love her and all..but she sound like the same whiny teenager in her other movies. just now that she's in a bikini this time.

This is a 30 second clip, so some might say that you can't judge her acting but I've studied this kind of thing and I'm allowed an opiinon, right? Her voice sounds the SAME as it did in Wizards. Low, monotonous, slightly croaky. She has NOT grown as an actress (from what I can hear on the clip). She sounds EXACTLY THE SAME. And it's NOT amusing how she's jumping from movie to movie without bothering to even realise that she sucks. It's because for years she's been told she's a good actress purely out of sympathy because her singing was terrible. I don't hate Selena, but I wish she would realize that she needs to get better at acting. Maybe not because some people just aren't meant to act. No matter how successful they get. Paris Hilton acted, doesn't mean she's a good actress. Get a grip selena, you're embaraassing yourself honestly. :/

Has anyone noticed that she's acting all superior because she's been cast in 'indie' movies, yet she hasn't gotten the roles for any credibility?
Take Spring Breakers for an example. Selena was cast in it and thought this means she's a cool kid. But so was Ashley Benson - another girl trying to stray from the 'squeaky clean image'. And what do you know? Vanessa Hudgens was cast too. ANOTHER girl trying to avoid her under 13 based audience too.
Critics will NOT take Spring Breakers seriously. It looks like a movie created to transfer a few girls from Disney to 'Daredevil.' Any one with common sense will realize that.
Also, she's been cast in another 'indie' flick - Feed the Dog, right? But has anyone noticed that THE NAKED BROTHERS BAND boy is in that movie, too? He's a Nickelodeon actor, for crying out loud! HE'S TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM HIS IMAGE TOO, JUST LIKE SELENA. AND THE DIRECTORS OF THESE MOVIES ARE CASTING THEM PURELY FOR THAT PURPOSE.
