Mitchel Musso AVOIDS JAIL TIME!
Hannah Montana star Mitchel Musso, 20, has avoided possible jail time in his drunk driving case after agreeing to pay a fine and enroll in an alcohol education class, reports TMZ. He was preparing to head to trial over an arrest in Burbank, California for reportedly failing a breathalyser test in October and faced up to six months behind bars and a $1,000 fine after recently pleading..
..not guilty to two counts of driving while drunk, Mitchel made a deal and pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit of 0.08. He was sentenced to 36 months of informal probation, ordered to pay a fine and must complete an alcohol awareness course.

well, that's actually a typical result of what happens to a first-time offender. he doesn't have a record, and no one ever wants to go through the hassle of a trial, so it easier to plead down to a lesser a charge and avoid jail time. everyone wins, it's settled faster, and no one is thrown in prison, which should be reserved for high-offense criminals.
