One Direction Fans Twitter Hate Attack
One Direction are forced to stop inviting fans on stage after 3 became victims of a jealous online hate campaign, reports The Mirror. & Vicious messages were sent to Hollie Gilbert, 20, and two others who were serenaded by One Direction at their UK tour’s opening night last month.
They had been chosen at random after an invitation on the Twitter website. But Hollie & the 2 other winners, aged 15 and 17, immediately started to get abusive messages, including: 'I think you’re pathetic' & 'You’re not even pretty, why did Harry choose you?' and 'You’re kinda rat-faced.'
They have now scrapped plans to get fans on stage at other gigs on tour. Hollie had camped overnight to get her tickets for the opening night in Watford on Dec. 18. She and the other two winners were taken to their own dressing room and allowed to pick a dress & tiara for a romantic, candle-lit scene as part of show.
Hollie 'I was partnered with Harry. Then they sang to us wearing tuxes. Harry was really sweet. The jealous messages began straight away. I think it’s because I was partnered with Harry, the most popular member. I’ve tried to ignore the..
..messages. But it’s a shame as the band have now cut the whole fan interaction scene from the routine.' One Direction spokesman said: 'The girls were brought up on stage for a warm-up show at the beginning of tour as a try. It didn’t work out from a practical point of view.'
