I've turned down some roles that could have been really big, because I didn't feel I was ready for them and I didn't feel my fans were ready for them.
I understand her turning down roles if she felt her acting wasn't up to the level it needed, in fact I would respect her more. But turning down roles cause she think her fans would react negative towards that is stupid. She's not at the level of Miley, Selena, or other big teen stars, no one would really care what she did with her acting career.
That's the problem with being a Disney star. As a kid/teen actor, you have two routes you can take in your career, you can do the Disney route which is quick, easy fame or you can try to find roles that are in projects cater to a wide audience which allows you to have a longer, more respectable career.

I don't know what kind of roles she's turned down but I think it's good that she considers her young fans. I think that was a mistake that Miley made. I don't think people know how to take Debby because she isn't diva like,s he seems really smart. Judging from some music videos Ive seen she could be a super star if she decides to go that way.
