Well I don't know what really happened but it seems like Nick is close enough with her to forgive whatever she has done and be friends with her again. It's not a good thing to hold all that baggage it seems like she's taken the time to get herself together so there's no reason for Nick to say "no I can't be friends with you because my brother isn't." There were no innocent people in the Demi drama. Joe was coaxed into dating Demi by Demi herself. She admitted she asked him out. Then when he realized how many problems she had, he ended it (nothing wrong with that). Then Demi bashed Joe in South America on her solo tour. That wasn't right. Joe's mistake (and Mr. Jonas, as well) was realizing how fragile her mental state was and Joe callously parading his new girlfriend around while Demi was trying to get through a tour with someone she was still in love with. A tour she couldn't get out of. THAT was thing Joe did wrong. I was at one of the concerts when she burst out crying during "Don't Forget Me" It was heartbreaking.

Demi had ALWAYS liked Joe, even in 2007 considering her Myspace comments with Marissa, she always had a thing for him and Joe loved her like a younger sister, she was very close to them three and their parents.
The rumours of them being together started WAY BEFORE they admitted they were dating so I think during the filming of CR2 something happened and they started hooking up until as Demi herself said she told him, we're perfect for each other, etc and then Joe came to her house with flowers and they started dating, I think she was really in love with him and Joe loved her but as a friend and I think that's why he broke up with her, because he could not handle Demi's issues and it's not the same being a supportive friend than being a supportive boyfriend, I do not blame Joe for breaking up with her because I can only imagine how hard is it to date someone who has those kind of issues but I do blame him for bringing Ashley on tour while Demi was there and still not over him, that was a very very douchey move, especially since Demi said it was always hard to see Joe dating those beautiful girls even when they were just friends.
As for Nick, he was a total sweetheart to her during that tour, he would make her feel comfortable and joke around with her because he knew she felt left out, that's why I am glad they're friends again because Nick always cared for her.
The Jemi issue belongs to Joe and Demi, not Nick, he's classy and he can stay away from it.

Nick is not using Demi for publicity. Does it look like he even cares about his career right now? He's just hanging with friends and hasn't done anything concerning his career in a while. Remember that she was who requested an opportunity to him and both decided to try it but doesn't worked it. Joe did the right thing and was honest with his feelings. They were not compatible as couple.

I think Nick & Demi have always had a different kind of bond. Not necessarily a love/dating bond, but like Joe, Demi seems to make nick laugh & smile. I think the last 2 years have been hard on nick, he seemed so lost to me, really struggling w/who he is & stuff. Glad he seems to be finding his place again.
