Obama basically screwed up when he said he was going to increase taxes for middle and upper classes. It's hard to bring home money and keep a sturdy amount of it as long as possible. Families are often struggling due to the recession, so why increase taxes? Of course, Obama has money to burn when he added a basketball court to the White House.
