Spring Breakers OSCARS HOPEFUL
Annapurna Pictures have set their sights set on the Oscars for Selena Gomez's critically praised new film 'Spring Breakers'. Annapurna Pictures will give Spring Breakers a qualifying run this December (though no specific date set yet) to make costar James Franco eligible for award season, reports Showbiz 411.
Not confirmed if they will link up with a major distributor. 'Spring Breakers isn’t necessarily a moralistic film condemning anything, but rather a tone poem on the emotions of youthful idiocy. It penetrates the evil and melancholy lurking under pop surfaces to a point of terror and unbridled entertainment.'

Just knowing the director and the work he has done in the past, I don't think it will be an ordinary film either. I think it might surprise a lot of people.

I saw the movie at TIFF and it is honestly the opposite of what you all think it is. It seems like some teen movie where girls go wild but its not. It's intense and beautifully made. Plus Selena leaves halfway through the movie and James Franco is fantastic.

It shows that the website its for ignorant kids it dosent say they looking to nominate selena. They are looking to nominate franco for an oscar or any other award besides the oscar people have benn nominating movies who are either independent or artistic films like moonrise kingdom or argo. If they give franco a nomination that would be nice the thing would be would the academy voters agree with his performance. also if a crapy movie named crash won best movie at the oscars a few years ago why spring breakers cant be nominated
