Joe Jonas Convoy Of Hope In Oklahoma

Via Convoy Of Hope: After an E-F5 tornado ripped through Moore, Okla., on May 20, 2013, thousands of individuals began reaching out through social media, by phone, on our website and through email. Joe Jonas arrived in Moore just a few days after the tornado struck, wearing his Convoy of Hope volunteer t-shirt and ready to help.

His first few minutes in the field included a live interview with CNN. ‘Right after we’re done I’m going to be helping clean up with Convoy. I’m looking forward to be working with some of the people there.’ The people Jonas went to work with were a group of about 50 volunteers that over the next two days cleared many homes of debris left by the tornado.

Other than the brief moment to snap a picture with a survivor who recognized him, Jonas and crew stayed busy hauling downed trees, destroyed fences and twisted sheet metal out of one yard after the next. On his second day of volunteering, one volunteer leaned over to Joe and with a kind smirk said,

‘you’re probably the only celebrity spending Memorial Day weekend in work gloves pushing a wheelbarrow.’ To that, Jonas smiled then blended back in to the sea of blue shirts working hard to bring hope to the people of Moore.

One time it gets publicized for him doing a good deed people have to say it was for PR. That is insane. These boys do so much for charities & never brag about like other celebs. They have done a lot, if the wanted the PR they would be all over publicizing it, but they don’t. I am so tired if hateful, negative fans.

This is why I should never look at these comments because there is always someone ‘ranting’ about how he should have done more

What if he didn’t go and help physically? And he donated a million dollars instead? You know what you people would say? ‘Must be easy to give out money while real people are doing the work’.

I honestly don’t know how celebrities do it. No matter WHAT they do, someone has to find fault in it. It makes me sick. I’m so proud of him that he went there. He has a good heart and wants to help out as much as the next guy. Jeez.

Some of you bitches are so irritating. Shouldn’t you be worried about the lives of these people? That their homes were destroyed? Joe is amazing for just being there. That’s what these people need. They need love and support.

What the hell are you doing?

He doesn’t Have to give Any money! You wicked Bitches!! So twisted with anger and hate! He gave his time! That is far MOREEEE Valuable!!

I am sure Joe & his brother donated plenty of money to OK. They just don’t need to get on twitter & brag about it.

He was there for two days.

He did donate a lot of money for Oklahoma. People there have mentioned it and he spent the night there so he wasnt there for a day. Quit complaining so much. Neither Kevin or Nick have gone to Africa or Oklahoma to help. Any help is good help.

aww he is a really nice person. I love him so much and I’m proud to be his fan

So you think the people of Oklahoma didnt appreciate his help? I’m sure it brightened some people’s day. Not everything is about money, although they did donate their fair share for those victims and many along their years of fame. I’m sure he’s a busy guy, he didnt have to go and do this work but he wanted to. I think personally his time is very valuable and the victims really appreciated it because I’m sure he could have been doing something else that day. Not everything is for PR, believe what you want and call Joe a bad person but they’re from a generous family and do what’s right. He didnt take an “easy” way out. Bash the Jonas brothers all you want but this was very kind of him

Gotta make sure there are photographers and interviews, right Joe?

Just so you know, he and his brothers donated 1 million dollars; You cant justgo and speak what you dont know. The Jonas Brothers are the band that donates the most . Remember the earthquake in Japan a couple years ago? They donated over 50 million dollars. If Joe wasnt doing much its because everyone wanted attention from him and he is really polite and talks to everyone.

DDont blame him. Much better than all the other celebrities that didnt move their asses, didnt give a shit about it.

Why people always have to do this?! The boy is doing something really nice and they find a little something there and that to judge and criticize. What about you getting your ass off the computer and doing better if it’s bothering you? It’s truly sad that we got to a point when as a society we doubt if someone helping people in need it’s “for publicity” or not. Hopefully your “rant” will help more than spending your time there doing something like Joe did.

Here is what I don’t get. Thousands upon thousands of people bought his merchandise and bought tickets to the JB shows when he came to Oklahoma basically making money….now why can’t he donate some of the money that he profited off of Oklahoma instead of walking around picking up pieces of wood not doing much at all (I was there I saw) and doing more interviews and taking pictures and signing autographs. All he really wanted was press to show his “good deeds”.

Celebrities if you really want to help, donate back some of the money you profited off of the people who bought your shit. Right now the people need money so they can i dunno eat…clothes to wear…have a place to live…the list goes on…they have all this money and yet they are asking the people of American to donate who don’t really have the money and are too damn greedy to giver there own.

Granted there are a few who did and they are truly amazing and companies who donated as well. Because they understand these people need a helping hand in all aspects including money.

    Rant done.

    +1000000000000
    on point my friend
i have always wondered the same thing.

i HATE when celebrities broadcast their good deeds. some may argue that they do so to ‘raise awareness’ or ‘get others to join [[since celebs are influentiall]]‘ but idc. if people want to help, they know where to look. i find it sad that we would need famous people to get others to start caring about the less fortunate.
plus they have their own mula. if youre going to even dare ask me to donate, then why dont you first show me your check for $2mil that youre donating as well. cause then i might throw something in.

i know they do donate themselves sometimes, but maybe they should either donate more or ask their rich friends to help out. not millions of tween girls who arent sure what to do with the money they should be saving for college…

    I love him so much.

Kid only did one interview with CNN and he did donate a lot of money. Btw he looks hot picking up that wood.

For the idiot who posted above. Joe and his brothers DID donate an undisclosed sum of money through their charity “Change for the Children” and he also worked with Convoy of Hope.

Don’t talk about what you don’t know.

The Jonas Brothers have always been one of the most generous celebrities out there. The don’t just give money they also give their time whenever possible.

Yet another idiot who takes something good and tries to turn it into something negative.

Joe has worked with Convoy of Hope before and they formed “Change for the Children” back when Nick was SEVEN on Broadway, long before they were ever famous.

This is just one of the many times Joe has given his time to a good cause. And donated money. Yes, they did donate money also.

Go spread your hate somewhere else.

One hater always makes the whole post rotten. I hate this site. Go away troll. Maybe instead of spreading hate, you might go volunteer yourself. Although I doubt you have any sort of heart.
