The tall blonde bombshell and love veteran, Taylor Swift said while accepting her Best Female Video award at the VMAs: “I also want to thank the person who inspired this song, who knows exactly who he is, because now I got one of these!” She confessed that she wrote the song about him to the LA Times; however, that’s impossible since she previously told USA Today that she worked on the song ‘I Knew You Were Trouble,’ along with three others on RED, with Max Martin after Christmas 2011. But, Taylor and Harry didn’t even exchange numbers until April 2012, before their highly publicized relationship later that year (specifically during New Years).
Do YOU think Taylor Swift has just directed the song at him? She clearly was NOT dating him at the time it was written. Maybe she’s just reassigned who it’s about in her own mind.
At the New York premiere of the group’s documentary This Is Us on Monday night, Liam Payne told to New York mag jokingly, “When she said those things about Niall [Horan, Liam obviously was being sarcastic by not saying Harry], we were very, very pissed off. Hashtag get over it. I was going to do a Kanye! It’s the best video of all time!” What stopped him? “Kanye himself.”
Niall Horan joined in on it: “I was so upset that she would go writing songs about me after all we’ve been through.” Payne also talked to Us Weekly about Swift’s speech, saying, “I just thought it was a bit not needed. I mean, you just won an award, it’s like, concentrate on yourself!” Asked by a reporter if he thought Swift’s behavior was “lame,” Payne replied, “Yeah.”
